摘要： A socket contact includes a connection portion, a fixing portion, contact portions and connecting portions for connecting the contact portions to the fixing portion. The center axis of the contact portions are shifted from the fixing portion by bending the connecting portions in their planes. In producing the socket contact, a blank material is punched to form a flat socket contact whose two contact pieces arranged in parallel with each other are then bent inwardly to form a U-shaped form. Thereafter, connecting portions of the two contact pieces are bent in the planes of the connecting portions. This socket contact fulfills the requirement with respect to the miniaturization of connectors with very narrow pitches. There is no longer any risk of the distal end of a mating contact contacting the bottom surface of the fixing portion of the socket contact, so that the assembling of the connector becomes easy and the stable contact between the socket and mating contacts can be obtained.

摘要： An electrical connector includes a pin connector and a socket connector. The pin connector has a plurality of pin contacts, a required number of grand contacts and a block for holding the pin and ground contacts. The socket connector has a plurality of socket contacts, a required number of ground contacts and a housing for holding the socket and ground contacts. The block and housing are each formed from an insulating plastic material and formed with contact insertion apertures into which the contacts are inserted and fixed. Further, the block and housing each have metallized surfaces around the contact insertion apertures in a manner to electrically insulate these contact insertion apertures for pin and socket contacts independently from one another. The electrical connector thus constructed is easily and economically manufactured while being capable of achieving sufficient shielding effect leading to sufficiently high speed transmission.

摘要： A press-in contact includes a connection portion to be connected to a circuit of a board or the like, a press-fitting portion to be fixed in a through-hole of a printed circuit board by press-fitting, and a contact portion contacting a contact of a mating connector. The press-fitting portion is formed to have a U-shaped groove in cross-section whose side walls has a thickness becoming thinner toward the open end of the U-shaped groove to make longer its outer peripheries contacting the through hole. A protrusion projecting from the center of the bottom of the U-shaped groove is provided along the full length of the U-shaped groove to an extent such that the protrusion does not adversely affect the flexibility of the ends of the walls of the U-shaped groove at its open end. With this construction, the ends of the walls forming the U-shaped groove are prevented from being deformed inwardly toward each other beyond the elastic limit, thereby maintaining the stable contact between the press-fitting portion of the press-in contact and the through-hole of the printed circuit board.

摘要： An electrical connector includes a pin connector and a receptacle connector. The pin connector includes a housing and pin contacts fixed to the housing. The receptacle connector includes contact assemblies each having an insulator and receptacle contacts fixed to the insulator; a connecting fixture for holding the contact assemblies; a block into which the contact assemblies are inserted, and first and second shield plates mounted on the block. The first shield plate has a substantially L-shaped cross-section and includes a required number of first anchoring pieces extending from its one free end and projections at tip ends of terminals on the other free end. The second shield plate includes a required number of second anchoring pieces extending from its one free end and anchoring portions to engage the terminals of the first shield plate. The block has flanges at both the ends in its width direction, the flanges having engagement portions for receiving therein the first and second anchoring pieces of the first and second shield plates. With the electrical connector thus constructed, there is no risk of the first and second shield plates moving away from the block, and there is no risk of the pin contacts and the first and second shield plates being deformed when the pin connector and the receptacle connector are connected. This electrical connector is easy to assemble and easy to mount the respective shield plates onto the receptacle connector.
