The base comprises a mainbody (21) and a fixing portion (22) in front of the mainbody. The mainbody defines a plurality of passageways receiving a plurality of terminals therein, and the fixing portion has blocks thereon. The cover comprises a body portion (31) and a header portion (32) in front of the body portion. The body portion defines a plurality of through holes provided in a one-to-one corresponding relationship with the passageways of the underlying base. The header portion is fitly fixed on the fixing portion of the base and engaging with the blocks thereof for preventing the cover from sideways rotation moving.

摘要： A socket connector (10) comprises a base (20) defining a mounting surface (20a) and a substantially rectangular passage body (22). The passage body defines a rectangular array of passages (22b). A plurality of concavities (20d) is defined in the mounting surface. Each concavity is defined between two adjacent passages in a same row of the passages, and surrounded by four passages; two of the passages being in a same row as the concavity, and two of the passages being in a row adjacent said same row. With this configuration, the passage body of the base has a substantially uniform thickness at the mounting surface. Thus, after molding, the passage body is simultaneously cooled down at the mounting surface, to thereby prevent the passage body from warping during formation or heating of the base.

摘要： A connector (1) for electrically connecting a central processing unit (CPU) with a printed circuit board (PCB) includes an insulative housing (2), passages (20) defined in the housing, and conductive contacts (3) secured in corresponding passages. Each passage includes a fastening recess (202), and the fastening recess includes a flared upper portion (2021). Each contact includes a soldering portion (31) for being soldered to the PCB, a pair of contact portions (33) for engaging with the CPU, and a body portion (32) interconnecting the soldering portion and the contact portions. Two pairs of engaging portions (340) are formed on opposite lateral edges of the body portion respectively. Each engaging portion includes an upper fixing part (3402) and a lower tapered guiding part (3401). When the contact is engaged in the corresponding passage, the tapered guiding parts and the flared upper portion cooperate to facilitate correct insertion of the contact.
