摘要: The present invention is directed to a method and system for identifying content in an unsent electronic message composed by a sender affiliated with a business, wherein the content is potentially not authorized by the business or potentially harmful to the business. An electronic screening tool is applied to the unsent electronic message prior to transmission of the unsent electronic message from a server, associated with the business, to the recipient. The electronic screening tool is programmed to identify content that is potentially not authorized by the business or potentially harmful to the business. The sender's request to transmit the electronic message to the recipient may be automatically cancelled and/or expunged from the server if the output of the electronic screening tool indicates that the unsent electronic message contains content that is potentially not authorized by the business or potentially harmful to the business. The present invention is also directed to a method for identifying whether a first party is engaging in electronic communications that are potentially harmful to the first party in commercial or residential environments. An electronic screening tool is applied to one or more electronic messages sent or received by the first party. The electronic screening tool is programmed to identify content associated with a situation that is potentially harmful to the first party. An alert message is automatically sent to a second party indicating that the first party may be involved in a situation that is potentially harmful to the first party if the output of the electronic screening tool indicates that the electronic messages contain content associated with a situation that is potentially harmful to the first party.

摘要: An intravenous drip rate control device includes a control valve having horizontally oriented valve members each provided with valve elements arranged in interdigitating relation with respect to each other. A drip rate sensor senses each intravenous drip and produces an electrical signal in response to each drip. A microprocessor unit compares the sensed drip rate to a preset drip rate and controls operation of an actuating unit which causes one of the valve members to shift toward and away from the other valve member. When one of the valve members is shifted toward the other valve member, a horizontal portion of the drip tube is progressively stretched to narrow the opening through the stretched portion of the tube and thereby reduce the drip rate. When the valve member is shifted away from the other valve member, the tension on the stretched portion of the tube will be progressively released, thereby increasing the opening in the tube and increasing the drip rate.

摘要: A method includes: applying an unsent electronic message to an electronic screening tool programmed to identify content that is potentially not authorized by a business or potentially harmful to the business; generating, based on an application of the unsent electronic message to the electronic screening tool, a risk assessment score for the unsent electronic message; determining that a value of the risk assessment score exceeds a threshold value; and following a determination that the value of the risk assessment score exceeds the threshold value: generating an electronic alert message for a sender that indicates that the unsent electronic message comprises content that may be objectionable.

摘要: A system transfers applications and datasets (files) from a server to a client device and assigns to each file a lease key that will expire at a specified time. A file cannot be accessed unless its lease key is validated. Upon expiration of a lease key, the client device will connect to the server to determine if the lease key may be renewed. If the lease key may be renewed, a new lease key is created and access to the associated application or dataset is restored. If the lease key may not be renewed, the file may be deleted or rendered inaccessible. If rendered inaccessible, the file may be restored in the future without having to re-transmit it from the server to the client device. The server may also revoke a lease key before it expires.

摘要: A balloon catheter which has an elongate shaft with an inflatable balloon connected to its distal end and a manifold connected to its proximal end. The manifold may be fixedly or removably attached to the shaft and includes a barrel with a plunger movably disposed inside it. The barrel has an internal volume of less than 5 cc and an internal diameter of less than 0.25 inches. A pressure transducer may be mounted to the manifold to permit measurement via a sensor tube. A pressure source for a balloon catheter including a barrel with a plunger inside it. The barrel is in fluid communication with the inflation lumen of the catheter and has an internal volume less than 5 cc and an internal diameter of less than 0.25 inches. A pressure sensor may be connected to the barrel with a sensor tube defining a fluid path from the interior of the barrel to the pressure sensor. A lock mechanism may be connected to the barrel to control longitudinal movement of the plunger. Pressure sources for balloon catheters with an adjusted P/&Dgr;V of 4000 atm/cu.in. or more and preferably 6000 atm/cu.in. or more over a pressure range of 5 to 15 atm. Connection tubes for connecting a pressure source to a balloon catheter with an adjusted P/&Dgr;V of 6000 atm/cu.in. or more (or an adjusted P/&Dgr;V by unit length of 90×103 atm/sq.in. or more) and preferably 8000 atm/cu.in. or more (or an adjusted P/&Dgr;V by unit length of 110×103 atm/sq.in. or more) over a pressure range of 5 to 15 atm.

摘要: A switch of the type utilized for machine tool controls and actuated by a roller passing over a cam track has two members mounted for independent reciprocation along a plunger actuated from the cam track. One of the members carries a movable contact or contacts, while the second member is utilized to trigger the first member. Each of the members is independently activated by an associated overcenter arrangement for snap action. A compression spring is utilized to return drive the plunger from the position to which it is moved by the action of the roller on the cam track. Movement of the plunger under the driving force of either the roller and cam track or the compression spring provides for a snap action of both members in the appropriate direction upon activation by their respective overcenter arrangement. The plunger is driven by the cam track to provide a positive contact break, while the compression spring provides an additional opening force in the other direction, if the overcenter arrangements for the two members do not succeed in effecting the desired contact opening.
