Abstract:
A starter assembly for a vehicle includes a housing adapted to be coupled to a vehicle ignition system. A carrier has a key opening and is movably mounted within the housing. A latch is movably mounted to the carrier and is movable between a first latch position and a second latch position. An electronic key is provided to be received in the key opening of the carrier. The key has a first end, a second end, and a longitudinal axis. The first end includes a first end wall. The first end wall has an opening defining an axially extending cavity therein.
Abstract:
The present invention contemplates to power adjustable seats in vehicles that include a seat motors assembly having snap together features to secure one or more metal motor housings between housing end caps. The snap together features have portions that elastically deform and snap back into position to secure the assembly together, while allowing for easy disassembly for servicing.
Abstract:
A movable panel assembly for a vehicle includes a console mounted within the interior of a vehicle. A panel is movably mounted relative to the console. The panel has at least one electrical component mounted thereon. A flexible cable electrically connects the at least one component to a system of the vehicle. A retractor is movably mounted on the assembly. Movement of the retractor is induced by movement of the panel relative to the console, such that the flexible cable is guided by the retractor as the panel moves, so that the position of the flexible cable is controlled within the movable panel assembly in relation to the position of the panel.
Abstract:
An electronic module that is activated by the touch of a button for sending a wireless signal to a remote receiver. The module has a housing with an upper portion that is secured in relation to a vehicle. A lower portion of the housing has mating apertures and openings provided therein. A set of staking posts extends from an upper face of one or more buttons. The staking posts have a leading end that is registrable with the mating apertures that are provided in the lower portion of the housing. A set of actuating posts also extends from the upper face of the button. Those posts extend within at least some of the openings that are defined in the lower portion of the housing. Optionally, an array of light pipes is in optical communication with a set of switches. One of the switches can be closed following contact by a leading end of one of the posts when a button is depressed. A printed circuit board is positioned in operative communication with one or more of the buttons so that upon touching a button, a circuit in the circuit board is closed by one of the switches. A signal is then sent wirelessly to a remote receiver.
Abstract:
A vehicle instrument panel assembly includes a console provided in a center stacking area receiving one or more vehicle components including a media player. A trim bezel configured for use with the one or more vehicle components is secured to the console. An alignment mechanism cooperates with the media player and an opening in the trim bezel to load and unload removable media. The alignment mechanism includes a load funnel securable adjacent an opening in the media player and an eject funnel cooperating with an opening in the trim bezel.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a center stack face plate that has an integrated HVAC duct assembly. This invention removes many parts and assemblies from typical HVAC duct assemblies and provides complete integration of HVAC duct assembly within the center stack face plate. The connector duct and air conditioner housing along with the barrel assembly make a direct point of connection with the center stack face plate allowing for typical usage of an HVAC system in a more streamlined fashion.
Abstract:
An automotive center stack panel assembly is provided comprising an inner retainer panel including a recessed display mount. A video display panel assembly is mounted to the recessed display mount and has a display angle orientation. At least one roller guide formed on the inner retainer panel. An outer main bezel is included having a bezel outer panel surface. A control panel is positioned between the inner retainer panel and the outer main bezel. A plurality of roller elements are positioned within the at least one roller guide and retained therein by the outer main bezel. The control panel is movable between a display hidden position and a display exposed position. The control panel covers the recessed display mount when in the display hidden position.
Abstract:
This invention provides a day/night outdoor mirror for a vehicle in which the mirror is of the remote-operable type manipulated by Bowden cables at least some of which are clamped on the exterior and under compression between the clamp and the support member for the mirror so that a resilient biasing force is imposed on the support member. The device includes a pivotal mounting means for the support member, an additional Bowden cable for rotating the support member in opposition to the resilient biasing force to shift the mirror to a second angular position, and an operating element which incorporates a detent to hold the mirror in the adjusted position.
Abstract:
An electronic input control assembly adjusts to the shape of a receiving assembly. The input control assembly includes an input control module and an actuator module. The actuator module has one or more actuators that are manually activated by a user. Advantageously, the input control module and the actuator module are moveably attached in a manner allowing relative motion which facilitates alignment when the input control assembly is placed within a receiving assembly. A garage door opener utilizes this adjustable design. A method of assembly the input control assembly is described.
Abstract:
An antenna assembly includes a plurality of antennas for use in wireless communication. A ganging member is provided for ganging the plurality of antennas in a substantially fixed relationship.
