    摘要: A machine arrangement that operates on a plurality of articles, such as bottles, includes a plurality of machines arranged in a machine arrangement. At least one of the machines includes an apparatus configured to modify the articles by at least one of moving, holding, manipulating and shaping the articles as they pass from an article infeed to an article discharge of the machine arrangement. A recirculation mechanism moves articles from a downstream machine after a first pass (or run) and recirculate the articles back to an upstream machine in a second (recirculation) pass (or run) so that the articles, which are recirculated through the second pass are again subjected to a different machine modifying operation in at least one machine that the articles have previously passed in the first pass. The articles move continuously through the first and second passes while being subjected to at least one machine modifying operation.

    摘要: An apparatus has a rotatable base having a plurality of guide features with opposed sides and supports. Each of the supports are slidably disposed in one of the plurality of guide features. The supports and the base member have spacer engagement surfaces which are configured to face one another in pairs and to have spacers clamped between each of the pairs. The spacers are so dimensioned as to locate each of the supports in a predetermined position with respect to an axis of rotation of the rotatable base member. A gear train on cut drive side is driven by a variable speed motor. Motor speed can be set for a given can diameter.

    摘要: A variable volume cell saver bowl to centrifuge blood for collection of red blood cells therefrom. The variable volume cell saver bowl is designed to vary the interior processing volume within the bowl to accommodate blood collections of various volumes in order to use the entire recovered volume of blood. The bowl includes generally an outer shell and an inner shell. The inner shell is disposed concentrically within the outer shell and defines a frusto-conical configuration similar to that of the outer shell first side wall. A piston head is secured to the inner shell lower end wall via at least one spacer. Rotation is imparted on the piston shaft or outer shell in order to rotate the bowl to create centrifugal force within the bowl. A linear displacement device is journalled to the distal end of the piston shaft in order to move the inner shell toward either the top or bottom end wall of the outer shell, thus reducing or increasing the interior processing volume within the bowl. In one embodiment of the bowl, the inner and outer shells are each configured with an upper end defining a cylindrical configuration. An upper seal is provided in this embodiment to prevent the collection of fluid within the upper end, thereby forcing substantially all of the blood to be processed into centrifugal separation.
