摘要: An automated computer-controlled sampling system and related methods for collecting, processing, and analyzing agricultural samples for various chemical properties such as plant available nutrients. The sampling system allows multiple samples to be processed and analyzed for different analytes or chemical properties in a simultaneous concurrent or semi-concurrent manner. Advantageously, the system can process soil samples in the “as collected” condition without drying or grinding. The system generally includes a sample preparation sub-system which receives soil samples collected by a probe collection sub-system and produces a slurry (i.e. mixture of soil, vegetation, and/or manure and water), and a chemical analysis sub-system which processes the prepared slurry samples for quantifying multiple analytes and/or chemical properties of the sample. The sample preparation and chemical analysis sub-systems can be used to analyze soil, vegetation, and/or manure samples.

摘要: Fluid separation chambers are provided for rotation about an axis in a fluid processing system. The fluid separation chamber may be provided with first and second stages, with the first and second stages being positioned at different axial locations. In another embodiment, at least one of the stages may be provided with a non-uniform outer diameter about the rotational axis, which may define a generally spiral-shaped profile or a different profile for fractionating a fluid or fluid component. One or more of the stages may also have a varying outer diameter along the axis. The profile of the chamber may be provided by the chamber itself (in the case of rigid chambers) or by an associated fixture or centrifuge apparatus (in the case of flexible chambers).

摘要: A coaxially assembled material processing assembly configured for engagement with a centrifuge device. The assembly includes a basket having a sidewall and endwall with openings communicating therethrough. The coaxially assembled assembly is positionable within a solid-walled central housing to form a material holding gap between the basket sidewall and central housing. Unwanted processed material sized larger than the openings in the basket are held therein while desired material is moved to the gap between the basket and solid wall of the central housing.

摘要: Apparatus and methods for separating blood components are disclosed in which an apparatus for separating blood generally includes a tube defining a channel and configured for receiving a quantity of blood and a float contained within the tube and having a density which is predefined so that the float is maintained at equilibrium between a first layer formed from a first fractional component of the blood and a second layer formed from a second fractional component of the blood. Upon completion of the centrifugation, the first layer may be removed from the tube while the float isolates the second layer from the first layer.

摘要: The present invention relates to a centrifuge, in particular a laboratory centrifuge, comprising a rotor which is rotatably mounted in an interior of a rotor chamber and is designed to accommodate sample vessels, a drive motor to set the rotor in rotation, and a cooling device which is designed to dissipate heat from the interior of the rotor chamber via a coolant, the cooling device being designed to use an elastocaloric effect and having at least one cooling unit which comprises an elastocaloric material arranged between a counter block and a punch, the punch being designed to periodically apply a force to the elastocaloric material and then to let the elastocaloric material relax again, the cooling device being designed to transfer both heat from the elastocaloric material to the coolant and from the coolant to the elastocaloric material. The present invention also relates to a method for cooling an interior of a rotor chamber of such a centrifuge.

At least one concentrate channel (380, 454) and a concentrate centripetal pump chamber (376,452) have configurations in the structure that facilitate the flow of cell concentrate.
