A method for improving performance of single frequency networks may include transmitting single frequency signals from base stations with pseudo-random phases including in the signals, data that permits a receiver compatible with the network to synchronously replicate the pseudo-random phases used in the transmission of the single frequency signals.

Each subzone includes at least one of the plurality of subcarrier sets and at least one of the plurality of symbols in the at least one zone. The method also includes associating each of the plurality of mobile units with at least one of the subzones and allocating a portion of the subcarrier sets and symbols in each subzone to the mobile units associated with each subzone.

    摘要: In a method of tracking a user in a communication network supporting a broadcast-multicast service, the network classifies groups of users into tracking areas. Movement of a user may be tracked as the user crosses a boundary between two tracking areas in the network. The method may enable a balance to be achieved between use of uplink overhead and the level or granularity of tracking desired, so as to conserve radio resources.
