Provided is a method for massive culture of Dinophysis acuminata which is a marine dinoflagellate causing diarrhetic shellfish poisoning, and methods for extracting, isolating and purifying the shellfish toxin pectenotoxin-2 from the cultured Dinophysis acuminata. Particularly, Dinophysis acuminata is cultured massively in massive culture apparatus comprising polycarbonate water bath having the bottom sinking down toward the center of the bottom; acryl tube (E) containing fluorescent lamp laid long in the center of the water bath; air supplying device (B) supplying the air to the sinking center of the bottom of the water bath; and air purifying device containing one or more devices selected from the group consisting of UV lamp (C) and carbon cartridge filter (D) purifying the air supplied by the said air supplying device.

Provided are a novel compound with a spiro chiral carbon backbone, a stereoisomer thereof, an enantiomer thereof, an in vivo hydrolysable precursor thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The novel compound with the spiro chiral carbon backbone has excellent osteoblast differentiation activity, mast cell inhibitory activity, and fatty acid synthesis inhibitory activity in the liver. Therefore, the novel compound can be expected to play an innovative role in treatment of osteoporosis, fatty liver, and obesity.

Disclosed are a method and a medium for cultivating the marine dinoflagellate Dinophysis acuminata. The laboratory culture of D. acuminata causing diarrhetic shellfish poisoning, whose cultivation was known difficult, has been first established, thereby contributing to a better understanding of ecophysiology, biology and toxicology of Dinophysis species, as well as the evolution of dinoflagellate plastids.

The present invention provides Wondonin A of general formula (I), which is extracted from a two-sponge association of phylum Porifera (sponge) and has antiangiogenic activity, and a process for preparing the same. Wondonin A has no cytotoxicity, but has an inhibitory activity against angiogenesis which is one of the crucial mechanisms of cancer cell metastasis, thus, it can be applied not only as an anticancer drug but also as a therapeutic agent of angiogenesis-associated diseases such as cardiac ischemia, rheumatoid arthritis, and diabetes mellitus.
