The extender provides a new abstract data type and includes a plurality of user defined functions for storing, querying, and retrieving structured documents internally, as character-based large objects (CLOB), or externally, in flat files or URLs, for example. The extender has “conditional select” functionality, “conditional select” functionality is based on user defined functions residing within the extender being applied to a projection in a structured query in the database system. The extender also has a set of user defined functions for creating one or more indexes for structured documents stored in the relational database system using already created B+ tree index structures implemented in the database system to support the indexes. The method includes a tag counting system for indexing structured documents and for implementing the structure indexes within the relational database.

    摘要: In a multiprocessing system, multiple concurrently operating task execution units are operated to perform an aggregate task by using incremental and on-demand sub-task allocation. A command is received to perform a machine-executed task divisible into multiple sub-tasks, i.e., an “aggregate task”. A granularity is then established, for dividing the aggregate task into sub-tasks. Preferably, the granularity is not too large to permit potentially uneven sub-task allocation, and not too small to incur excessive overhead in allocating sub-tasks. Having established the granularity, multiple task execution units are independently operated on-demand to sequentially self-allocate and execute sub-tasks of the aggregate tasks. Each sub-task is sized according to the established granularity. Operating “on-demand”, each task execution unit sequentially allocates and executes one sub-task at a time, then proceeding to the next unexecuted sub-task. Thus, the multiprocessing system operates like multiple people drinking water from a common glass through individual straws—although each drinker works independently, all finish simultaneously, thus completing the aggregate task as expeditiously as possible.

    摘要: The embodiments of the present invention provide methods and systems for automated collection of human-reviewed data. Requesters send data to be reviewed by humans (or data requests) to a data processing system, which is in communication with one or more systems for collecting human-reviewed data (HRD). The methods and systems discussed enables the data processing system to work with one or more of the systems for collecting HRD). In one embodiment, between the data processing system and the systems for collecting HRD are wrappers, which stores parameters specific to the data requests and libraries for transforming the data requests to human intelligent tasks (HITs) specific to each HRD system. The data processing system also includes a number of components that facilitate transforming data requests into HITs, sending the HITs to the HRD collection systems, receiving HRD, and analyzing HRD to improve the quality of collected HRD.

    摘要: Techniques are described herein for generating and displaying a confusion matrix wherein a data item belonging to one or more actual classes is predicted into a class. The classes in which the data item may be predicted (the “predicted classes”) are ranked according to a score that in one embodiment indicates the confidence of the prediction. If the data item is predicted into a class that is one of the top K ranked predicted classes, then the prediction is considered accurate and an entry is created in a cell of a confusion matrix indicating the accurate prediction. If the data item is not predicted into a class that is not one of the top K ranked predicted classes, then the prediction is considered inaccurate and an entry is created in a cell of a confusion matrix indicating the inaccurate prediction.
