And a procedure call sequence is defined by specifying procedures of defined components in order of call. The call sequence data is generated in the computer as scenario data. Then, the defined group of scenarios are selected and reflected on the model editor. A whole requirement is created. At that time, a procedure name to be called subsequently on the connection line between components is acquired from the defined procedure sequence data, and a program for effecting animation is generated. Finally, by executing the generated animation program, the procedure call sequence is displayed in an animation form and the requirement is created. By interactive operation alone of the screen using the scenario editor and the model editor, therefore, the requirement of the development subject from the customer can be easily acquired and the whole requirement can be created.

In the method, an object design information generator 0104 receives: management resource construction information in which resources that should be managed in business are entered hierarchically as elements, business activity construction information in which business activity to be performed in business are entered hierarchically as elements, and a business action scenario, in which is entered, for each element position at the lowermost level in the business activity construction information, the arrangement of operations needed for carrying out the corresponding business activity. The elements in the management resource construction information and the business activity construction information are treated as objects. Class information having the element name are associated with each element, and method information indicating the behavior of the object is obtained from the business action scenario. The elements positioned hierarchically above and below the element are obtained as the relations class information.

A process for architecting a figure input/output interface of an instance is provided in an object-oriented design supporting system or the like. An applicable graphic editor is provided with a figure editor, which expands a function for defining a method to draw a user figure and also a function for defining a slot of a figure attribute when the user figure is designated; and furthermore expands a function to produce an instance when the user figure is drawn and also a function for coupling the instances when the figures are connected with each other. Then, input/output figures of a design component are defined and inputted with employment of this applicable graphic editor. In the output, a slot of the displayed instance is updated and then a display is deformed. As a result, the formation of the figure input/output for the instance such as the design component is available by only operating the screen of the applicable graphic editor. According to another aspect, a user figure corresponding to a class is formed by operating a screen of a figure editor, whereby a connection point and a slot of a figure attribute is designated. As a result, a program for inputting/outputting a figure, coupling the figures and deforming the displayed figure is automatically produced, so that it is possible to input a figure of an instance, couple the instances by the figure connections and to realize an animation description by updating the slot of the instance.

In the equipment, the plurality of program objects are linked with the plurality of symbol objects through an inter-program communication control routine. Each of the program objects, when receiving a message from the communication control routine, is executed for simulation operation according to the received message to thereby generate a new message to be sent to the associated program routine and a new message indicative of an object state change to be sent to one of the symbol objects corresponding to the associated object. Each of the symbol objects, when receiving the message from the communication control routine, is executed to change a display state of one of symbols corresponding to the associated symbol object on the display screen.
