摘要: An in-line humidifier is disposed along the passageway of a breathing system. The humidifier includes a humidification chamber having a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and a reservoir. The humidifier includes a liquid trap which includes a chamber, a fluid inlet in communication with the liquid trap chamber, and a fluid outlet in communication with the liquid trap chamber. The liquid trap is constructed and arranged to discourage liquid from back-flowing from the humidifier to a source of gas.

摘要: A pressure support device (50) such as, such a CPAP machine (50), is provided, which includes a housing (51), and a controller (64) enclosed by the housing (51). The controller (64) operates the CPAP machine (50) independently or in combination with an accessory (70) such as, for example and without limitation, a humidifier (70). A user interface (66) is operably (74) coupled to the controller (64) and includes a primary display (72), a secondary display (74) and a single control (76). The single control (76) is operable in a first mode of operation to adjust operating parameters of the CPAP machine (50), and in a second mode of operation to adjust operating parameters of the humidifier (70). The secondary display (74) preferably comprises a dead front (74), which is operational (e.g., without limitation, visible) only in the second mode of operation. A method of operating a pressure support device (50) is also disclosed.

摘要: A breathing system (1) includes a gas source (10) connected to a patient interface (80) via a passageway (90). An in-line humidifier (50) is disposed along the passageway. The humidifier includes a humidification chamber (400) having a fluid inlet (420), a fluid outlet (430), and a reservoir (410). The humidifier includes a liquid trap (200) comprising a chamber (210), a fluid inlet (220) in communication with the liquid trap chamber, and a fluid outlet (230) in communication with the liquid trap chamber. The fluid outlet of the liquid trap is in fluid communication with the fluid inlet of the humidification chamber. The liquid trap is constructed and arranged to discourage liquid from back-flowing from the humidifier to the source of gas. For example, a spill height defined by the liquid trap's fluid inlet is elevated relative to a low point of an interior of the liquid trap regardless of an orientation of the humidifier.
