Abstract:
An invention is disclosed for dynamically changing the predefined execution sequence of steps or tasks in a computerized process while it is being performed by permitting one or more task(s) to be specified as necessary when other task(s) have been completed. Specifically, a product, method and system is provided for using a “workflow engine” software program acting in combination with a “decision-making layer” program interface between the workflow engine and the process model to determine the normal or (“default”) next step in the process and all other possible process steps that can be permissibly completed after execution of the current step or task.
Abstract:
A method for providing inter-platform application launch comprises receiving a query from a first application, the query comprising one or more attributes of a resource; comparing the one or more resource attributes to a central registry, the central registry comprising a plurality of application launch points, the central registry being accessible from a plurality of different applications on a plurality of different platforms; identifying one or more application launch points that match the query; and returning a launch instruction for each of the one or more matching application launch points.
Abstract:
An audible indicator such as an audio tone is associated with the importance of data elements displayed on a visual display screen of data processing apparatus such as a personal computer or work station. At least one characteristic of the audible indicator, for example its pitch or frequence of a tone, is associated with the importance of the data elements. When a user selects a particular date element on the screen, for example using a computer mouse, the audible indicator conveys the importance of the selected data element to the user. This enables visually impaired users to readily locate important data elements on a display screen without reading the entire screen using a screen reader.
