摘要: A film scanning device using the same CCD light sensor for pictures of strip film and for a slide mount also comprises a body having a strip film transport path disposed there through. The transport path has a first opening in the body for inserting a developed strip film, a second opening in the body through which the developed strip film exits the body, and a third opening for inserting and pulling out a slide mount juxtaposed vertically relative to the strip film transport path.

摘要: A variable optical attenuation system has at least one variable optical attenuation device that receives a light signal, attenuates the light signal, and transmits an attenuated light signal. The variable optical attenuator system further has a controller circuit in communication with the variable optical attenuation device to provide an attenuation control signal to the variable optical attenuation device to cause the variable optical attenuation device to adjust an attenuation factor of the variable optical attenuation device. The variable optical attenuator system also has a data retaining device such as an EEPROM in communication with the controller circuit. The data retaining device has a listing of attenuation factors and corresponding attenuation control signals. A communication interface such as a serial data link, within the variable optical attenuator system provides communication between the controller circuit and an external command system. The external command system indicates a desired attenuation factor and the control circuit accesses the data retaining device to retrieve the corresponding attenuation control signal. The control circuit transmits the corresponding attenuation control signal to the variable optical attenuation device, which then adjusts to assume the desired attenuation factor. A calibration method for the variable optical attenuation system corresponds the attenuation factors to the attenuation control signals and stores the attenuation factors and the corresponding control signals to the data retaining device.

摘要: In a method and apparatus for generating musical accompaniment signals corresponding to a musical program, there is provided a recording medium which has an audio storage unit and a lyric storage unit separate from the audio storage unit. The audio storage unit and the lyric storage unit respectively have a plurality of audio music data and a plurality of lyric data corresponding to a plurality of the musical programs stored therein. The lyric data include encoded text data and timing information. In operation, the audio music data and the lyric data corresponding to a selected one of the musical programs are retrieved from the recording medium. The encoded text data and timing information retrieved from the recording medium are decoded to obtain decoded data, and bitmap data are then generated from the decoded data. The bitmap data are synchronized with the audio music data retrieved from the recording medium in accordance with the timing information. The audio music data retrieved from the recording medium are provided to a sound card to obtain an audio output. The bitmap data are provided to a VGA card to obtain a video signal.

摘要: In a method and apparatus for generating audio-visual musical accompaniment signals corresponding to a musical program, there is provided a recording medium which has an audio storage unit, a lyric storage unit and a video storage unit separate from the audio storage unit and the lyric storage unit. The audio storage unit and the lyric storage unit respectively have a plurality of audio music data and a plurality of lyric data corresponding to a plurality of the musical programs stored therein. The video storage unit has a plurality of video segments to be commonly shared by the plurality of the musical programs stored therein. In operation, the audio music data and the lyric data corresponding to a selected one of the musical programs are retrieved from the recording medium, while at least a section of the video segments are retrieved from the recording medium in an order. The audio music data retrieved from the recording medium is converted into an audio output, and the lyric data and the sections of the video segments retrieved from the recording medium are combined to obtain a video output. The audio and video outputs constitute the musical accompaniment signals corresponding to the selected one of the musical programs.

摘要: A retractable memory drive in accordance with the present invention comprises a top casing, a middle carrier, an electronic device such as a USB thumb drive, and a bottom casing. A positioning device on the middle carrier has a portion that protrudes outside the casing and operates like a button. The location of the positioning device where the button is located has two key attributes. First, there is a protrusion that acts as a lock with the casing. Second, the area below the button is not rigid and so it gives way when pressure is applied to the button. The top and bottom casings provide a casing structure which includes two detents. One detent is for locking the device with the connector in the extended position, and one detent for locking the device with the connector retracted in the in position. This allows for just one press of the extended portion of the positioning device to unlock it from its present position. When the device reaches its new position it will automatically lock. There are also guide rails that allow the middle carrier to remain in an appropriate position.

摘要: A bi-directional light signal separation device that separates light signals into the component incoming and outgoing light signals has a a female connector that is connected to a near end of a first fiber optic cable conveying the bi-directional light signal. A light signal separation device connected to the female connector to separate the bi-directional light signal into the individual incoming and outgoing light signals. A plurality of second type connectors connected to convey the individual incoming or outgoing light signals. The light signal separation device has a plurality of light filters and reflectors such that a light signal incoming to the second type connector is transmitted through the filter and conveyed to the female connector and such that the light signal incoming from the first connector and reflected by the light filter is reflected and conveyed to be outgoing on the second connector.
