    摘要: A storage system adapted for receiving HDDs of different dimensions, including a casing, a backplane, at least one power supply module, and at least one storage controller is disclosed. The internal space of the casing forms at least one HDD receiving chamber. The HDD receiving chamber can be used for selectively receiving first type HDD devices or second type HDD devices. The two types of HDD devices are of different dimensions, for example, 2.5″ and 3.5″ HDDs. The backplane, the power supply module, and the storage controller are provided in the internal space of the casing. The backplane has a plurality of first connectors for electrically connecting to the HDD devices. The storage controller is electrically connected to the backplane and power supply module. A storage system capable of receiving mixed HDD devices of different dimensions is formed thereby.

The cage includes a cutout (52) and a plurality of slits (26), the side panel includes a receiving portion (42) and a plurality of catches (12) for engaging in the slits. The latch device received in the receiving portion includes a cover (32), a base (34) combined with the cover, a handle (36) and a locking mechanism (38) placed in the base. The locking mechanism includes a pair of levers (70) and a resilient arm (80) connecting the levers. When the handle is pressed to deform the resilient arm, the levers are retracted towards each other, so that distal ends of the levers are in alignment with the cutout, the side panel is thus detachable from the cage.

A support plate (22) extends rearwardly from the panel adjacent the opening. A through opening (120) is defined in the main body. Cutouts (162) are defined in the pressing body. The fastening member includes a plurality of pressing clips (35) extending through the cutouts to abut end portions (52) of slot covers (50), and an operation lever (33) extending through the through opening of the retaining bracket to resiliently engage with the panel at the opening. Thus the end portions of the slot covers are securely sandwiched between the pressing body and the support plate.

When the crank is rotated, the protrusion of the crank slides along the sliding slot and pushes the second bracket until the second bracket is attached to the first bracket.

An upper positioning protrusion (316) and a lower positioning protrusion (318) are formed on a bent plate (312) of the chassis. The locking member is pivotally attached to the bent plate. A pressing portion (216) is formed on an inner side of the locking member and a notch (206) is defined in an outer side of the locking member. A support portion (126) is formed on the retaining member corresponding to the pressing portion. When the upper positioning protrusion is matched with the notch, the retaining member is put into the chassis. The locking member is pressed until the lower positioning protrusion is matched with the notch, and thus the retaining member is secured to the chassis.

The actuator is slidably received in the cover with the shaft fixing the coil spring therearound and extending through the aperture. The locking member is located in the cover, the wedge is extendable into the through hole of the base. The actuator can drive the wedge upwardly and downwardly to engage with the cage for releasing and securing the side panel from and to the cage.

The cage includes a rear wall (12) defining a breach (16) therein, and top and bottom walls (11, 15) each defining a number of splits (112). The hood includes a number of hooks (29) engaging with the splits, and defines an opening (22) to accommodating the fastener. The fastener includes an actuator (36) movably attached to the hood, a latch (34) connecting to the actuator and forming an extension portion (344) to engage with the rear wall. When the actuator is movably from a locked position to an unlocked position, the extension portion of the latch disengages from the rear wall and is moved away from the rear wall to cause the hood to be moved relative to the cage, thereby releasing the hooks from the splits.
