Abstract:
A display case cools and displays products. A first fan system circulates cool air through the display case. The cool air is directed downwardly along a front of the display case to form a primary air curtain. A second fan system circulates ambient air to generate a secondary air curtain. The secondary air curtain is located between the primary air curtain and the outside environment, trapping the primary air curtain near an interior display volume of the display case. Each end of the second fan system is several inches shorter than the display case to allow for case to case attachment. The second fan system includes a louver near each of the side walls and a front of the second fan system. Each louver includes a plurality of slanted panels. The louvers direct the ambient air towards the side walls of the display case to improve the secondary discharge air velocity in a front corner area of the display case.
Abstract:
A disc storage container for holding multiple discs comprising, a front container cover, a back container cover, and a spine, and attachment means on the spine, the front container cover and back container cover being moveable between a container open position enabling access to the contents of the container and a container closed position for storage purposes. A multi-tray assembly for retaining a plurality of discs within the container, the multi-tray assembly comprising two connectors and two trays for retaining and holding discs, each connector comprising a container-engaging member for engaging to the attachment means on the spine of the container and two holding means for rotatably holding a respective tray, so that each tray can be rotated about the holding means of the connectors to allow access to the discs retained by the trays when the container is in a container open position.
Abstract:
A refrigerated merchandiser (100) includes an upright, open-front, insulated cabinet (110) defining a product display area (125) connected in airflow communication with a compartment (120) via an air circulation circuit (122, 114, 116). The flow of refrigerant through the coils (46) of evaporator (40) disposed in the compartment (120) to cool the airflow from the product display area of the refrigerated merchandiser.
Abstract:
A drill bit capable of axial cutting as well as side cutting, having a generally cylindrical elongate body with a bit diameter, includes a frontmost drilling end for axial cutting, a cutting section extending from the drilling end for side cutting, and a shank extending from the cutting section. The cutting section is helically cut at a helix angle of substantially 15°±2° to form one pair of diametrically opposite helical flutes whose outermost edges are sharpened to form respective cutting edges, arranged around a solid central core whose diameter is substantially directly proportional to the bit diameter. The length of the cutting edges in the axial direction of the drill bit body is calculated according to the formula: Cutting Edge=Bit Diameter×&pgr;×Cc/Tan (Helix Angle), Cc being a constant in a range from 0.85 to 0.90.

The flow of refrigerant through the coils (46) of evaporator (40) is arranged to configure the evaporator (40) as a “thermodynamically counterflow” heat exchanger.
Abstract:
A mounting system is provided to couple an engine unit including a turbine engine portion coupled to a gearbox portion about an axial axis to a support structure. An aft mounting device can couple the turbine engine portion to the support structure. A force determinator can be configured to determine a force load of the engine unit at the location of the aft mounting device. The length of the aft mounting device is adjustable between the turbine engine portion and the support structure in a radial direction to substantially align the gearbox portion and the engine portion relative to the axial axis. The aft mounting device may be sized to a desired length to correspond to a force load of the engine unit during the running condition.
Abstract:
A refrigerated case includes a housing including an interior display volume and a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger includes a circuit defined by a heat exchanger section including a plurality of tubes that define a flow path, a reheat section including a reheat tube, and a connecting tube fluidly connecting the flow path of the heat exchanger section with the reheat tube. Air flows over the plurality of tubes of the heat exchanger section and rejects heat to a refrigerant flowing through the plurality of tubes to heat the refrigerant. The heated refrigerant then flows through the reheat tube. As the air passes over the reheat tube, the air accepts heat from the heated refrigerant flowing through the reheat tube.
Abstract:
A refrigerated display case includes a heat exchanger with circuits that route secondary fluid in a counterflow direction with respect to the airflow through the heat exchanger. At least one circuit directs secondary fluid from the entrance end to the exit end of the heat exchanger to exchange heat with air exiting the heat exchanger. The higher fluid temperature raises the air dry bulb and lowers the air relative humidity to improve the capability of the air to absorb moisture in the display case.
Abstract:
A media storage disk box for containing a media storage disk, or optical disc, includes a unitary plastic body having a first panel, a second panel, and a hinge panel, the hinge panel intermediate of the first panel and the second panel, the first panel and the second panel movable, about the hinge panel, between an open position and a closed position; a first metal cover affixed to the first panel, the first metal cover having a perimeter rim and at least one perimeter wall section; and a second metal cover affixed to the second panel, the second metal cover having a perimeter rim and at least one perimeter wall section. According to one embodiment, the perimeter rim of the first metal cover is raised a predetermined distance above a central area of the first metal cover, and the perimeter rim of the second metal cover is raised a predetermined distance above a central area of the second metal cover. According to another embodiment, the media storage disk box may include graphics disposed one or more of the metal covers.
