    摘要: Magnetic cards are provided with unique card signatures which include a number of bits, some of which have intermediate magnetic levels. As a result a card reader allocates randomly either a one or a zero to the intermediate level bits. The random allocation provides a test for the genuineness of the card. The intermediate level bits are formed as a result of inherent inconsistencies in the characteristic of a normal magnetic stripe along its length. It is not possible therefore to readily, if at all, reproduce patterns of intermediate level bits in a duplicate because the stripe on the duplicate will have differently arranged inconsistencies along its length.

    摘要: A socket connector (1) includes an insulative housing (10) having a central slot (12) therein along its lengthwise direction for receiving a lower edge portion (101) of a daughter board (100) therein. A plurality of passageways (14, 16) are arranged staggered on two sides along the slot (12) for receiving the upper row contacts (60) and the lower row contacts (80) therein for electrical engagement with the corresponding circuit traces (108) on two sides of the daughter board (100). Two arms (20) respectively extend forwardly from two ends of the housing (10) and each arm (20) thereon forms a platform (22) for allowing the inserted daughter board (100) to sit thereon. A metal latch (40) including a generally U-shaped body (46) and a retention blade (44) separately and respectively independently extend from a main base (42) so that the latch (40) can be reliably securely retained horizontally within each arm (20) of the housing (10) wherein the hook (54) of the latch (40) upwardly extends out of the platform (22) for engagement with the daughter board (100) thereon, and the lever (56) of the latch (40) extends forwardly out of the front end surface (21) of the arm (20) for easy manually operative deflection.

    摘要: A housing (10) incorporating a memory card connector (40) positioned in the computer for use with a memory card (100), is independently mounted on the backpanel (12) of the computer case and installed in the exterior of the computer case. The housing (10) further comprises a cavity (14) defined by walls of the housing (10) for receiving the rear portion of the inserted memory card (100) therein, and an opening (29), which is generally positioned about the centerline of the housing (10), recessed through the front portions of the top and bottom walls (15, 16) of the housing (10) for facilitating manually grasping the rear portion of the corresponding memory card (100) during insertion or withdrawal of such memory card (100) with regard to the computer case.

    摘要: A card edge socket connector (1) includes an insulative elongated housing (10) having a plurality of contact slots (14) side by side vertically extending therethrough. A plurality of contacts (90) are received within the corresponding contact slots (14), respectively. A central board slot (12) extends in the housing (10) in the lengthwise direction for reception of the bottom edge portion of daughter board (100) inserted therein whereby the contacts (90) are electrically engaged with the traces on the bottom edge portion of the daughter board (100). An ejector (50) is pivotally positioned in a cavity (30) at one end of the housing (10) and a pair of separate latches (70) are positioned adjacent such ejector (50) but segregative and spaced therefrom by substantially a portion of the insulative housing (10) for latchably sandwiching and engaging within a retaining (92) hole of the daughter board (100) when the daughter board (100) is received in the board slot (12) in the connector housing (10). Such ejector (50) has a hook section (54) for pushing the bottom edge portion of the daughter board (100) upwardly and releasing the daughter board (100) from the connector (1), accordingly. The housing (10) of the connector (1) itself has a closed type opening on the top in the lengthwise direction which efficiently aligns and orients the daughter board (100) in the lengthwise direction for avoiding any misalignment of the daughter board (100) during the insertion process.

A pair of cavities (22) are provided at two opposite ends of the housing (12) for receiving a pair of corresponding latch/eject members (70) therein. Rotation restriction means for limiting the rotation of the latch/eject member (70) with regard to the housing (12), includes a first engagement surface (85) provided on the eject portion (78) of the latch/eject member (70) and a second engagement surface (42) provided on the housing (12). A reinforcement wall (32) is transversely provided of the housing (12) and substantially between two side walls (24), but does not obstruct the assembling of the latch/eject member (70) into the cavity (22) in the housing (12).
