Abstract:
Process for the stabilization of compositions containing hydrofluoroalkanes by addition of at least one salt of at least one metal chosen from lithium and/or the alkaline-earth metals in a sufficient quantity to stabilize the hydrofluoroalkanes and stabilized compositions containing hydrofluoroalkanes.
Abstract:
A composition which comprises 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluorobutane (HFC-365mfc) and 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane (HFC-245fa) in a weight ratio HFC-365mfc/HFC-245fa of from 60:40 to 75:25.
Abstract:
Sulfuryl fluoride (SO.sub.2 F.sub.2) frequently contains chlorine, sulfur dioxide and other acidic impurities owing to its production. Effective purification is possible if the sulfuryl fluoride is contacted with hydrogen peroxide or a precursor thereof, preferably in an aqueous solution. The purified product is suitable as a pesticidal agent, for example.

Abstract:
Use for foam manufacture in a foam manufacturing equipment designed for use with hydrochlorofluorocarbons of a composition comprising at least one hydrofluorocarbon blowing agent and a non-halogenated polar organic compound having an atmosphere boiling point of from 30° C. to 150° C.
Abstract:
A method for the production of polyurethane foams and of thermoplastic foams is described. As blowing agent, a composition is used, which contains or consists of pentafluorobutane, preferably pentafluorobutane (HFC-365mfc) and at least one further blowing agent selected from the group comprising; difluoromethane (HFC-32); difluoroethane, preferably 1,1-difluoroethane (HFC-152a); 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethane (HFC-134); 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (HFC-134a); hexafluoropropane, preferably 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoropropane (HFC-236fa); 1,1,2,3,3,3-hexafluoropropane (HFC-236ea) and heptafluoropropane, preferably 1,1,1,2,3,3,3-heptafluoropropane (HFC-227ea), low-boiling, optionally halogenated hydrocarbons and/or low-boiling, optionally halogenated ethers.

Abstract:
The invention concerns blowing agents mixtures containing at least a partially fluorinated hydroncarbon and the usual auxiliaries and additives, in which the inert gas content, measured in the vapour phase of the blowing agent or blowing agent mixture, should not exceed 1.5% by volume. The blowing agent mixture can be used to manufacture foam products from thermnoplastics, especially foamed polystyrene.
