Abstract:
Disclosed is a system and method for providing a comprehensive interactive anatomical graphical representation of a body for use in a health care environment. The system comprises a health care information system having at least one data repository for storing data and at least one graphical user interface in communication with the at least one data repository, and at least one anatomical map of a body stored in the health care information system and displayable by the graphical user interface for managing care. Because the graphical representation of the at least one anatomical map of a body is integrated within the enterprise health care information system, it allows a user to access patient data and health care facility resource data, perform actions on the displayed patients and health care facility resources, and manage patient care and health care facility resources.
Abstract:
Automatic text generation is marked in a text document to allow later re-invocation of automatic text generation to revise the expanded text and to ensure integrity in capture of machine interpretable data generated during automatic text generation.
Abstract:
The invention provides a methods and materials for detecting an activity of a glycopeptide antibiotic (such as a vancomycin-type antibiotic), in a sample, the method comprising the steps of: (a) providing a microorganism in which a first endogenous gene encoding peptidyltransferase activity is inactivated, which activity is necessary for growth of the microorganism, and which activity can be complemented by a second, different, peptidyltransferase, which second peptidyltransferase is inducible in the microorganism by the presence of the antibiotic, (b) contacting the sample with the microorganism, (c) observing the microorganism for growth, wherein growth of the microorganism is correlated with the presence of the antibiotic. Unlike systems of the prior art, the system does not rely on the expression of a heterologous reporter gene in order to detect antibiotic activity, but instead utilizes a “drug dependent” microorganism that can only grow in the presence of antibiotics that act an inducers of the relevant genes.
Abstract:
A system and method for providing a clinical summary of patient data in a health care setting. The system and method comprises a graphical user interface in communication with a health information system for accessing patient data. The graphical user interface is capable of displaying a clinical summary of patient data in a summary window in a textual format and a graphical format. The system and method further comprises a user record allowing a user to specify and configure the patient data displayed in the summary window. The user record includes configuration and security settings for selectively controlling the display of the user-specified patient data, and a user can select from the displayed patient data, access additional information about the selected patient data, generate detailed reports including the selected patient data, and generate graphical representations including the selected patient data.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for use with a database that includes patient charts where each chart includes subsets of patient data, the method for allowing a physician to generate a custom report view (CRV) including at least a subset of the patient data, the method comprising the steps of, during a collection process, providing an interface that enables the physician to access the patient chart data, presenting patient chart data via the interface, receiving a selection from the physician via the interface that selects at least one subset of the chart data and rendering the selected data accessible in a data collector view (DCV) for subsequent use.
