摘要： A system for tracking a location of a resident includes a resident height detection device (e.g., a small pendant, bracelet or other wearable device) and a receiver/dialer. When the system detects that the resident height detection device has remained within a threshold distance of the floor (e.g., 8 to 16 inches) for more than a given period of time (e.g., 15 seconds), an alarm condition signal would then be sent to a receiver/dialer elsewhere in the residence which would then forward an emergency signal to a caretaker or to an emergency operator by way of the receiver/dialer. The resident height detection device may further include an override switch to turn off tracking when the resident intends to be on the floor for an extended period of time.

摘要： An emergency services automatic dialing device enables at least one number in a list of alternate numbers to be called prior to dialing an emergency services number (e.g., 911). This enables a user of a corresponding portable transceiver to try to reach someone else (e.g., a family member) before having to resort to calling emergency services (e.g., 911 for fire department, police or ambulance). The dialing device can call several numbers in a list until all the numbers are exhausted before dialing the emergency services number. Calling the list of numbers can also be overridden by pressing a button on the portable transceiver in a particular way.

摘要： A vehicle alarm bypass module which may be used as a part of an installation module for a remote vehicle starter. The alarm bypass module includes a plurality of resistors and a first plurality of switches connected configured to respectively short out respective of the plurality of resistors. Further, a plurality of relays are configured to selectively connect the plurality of resistors into a circuit path. A variable resistance may further be provided in series with the plurality of resistors and a second plurality of switches may be provided to selectively connect the plurality of relays into and out of the circuit path. A multiturn coil may also be provided and may be configured to generate a magnetic field and to be selectively connected into and out of the circuit path based on the setting of the second plurality of switches. With such a structure, the alarm bypass module is flexible in the connection of its circuit components. As a result, an operator can alter the configuration of the alarm bypass module by simply altering the positioning of the switches. The different configurations which the alarm bypass module can take on allow installation into vehicles which include different vehicle alarm systems.

摘要： A navigational aid including an intelligent display mode and a communication system communicates with a vehicle's sensor system and/or historical- or time-based information to reduce the number of businesses that are displayed on the map by filtering out unneeded or less preferred services. When the vehicle's fuel level sensor detects that the fuel tank is almost empty, a message can be sent from the sensor system to the navigational aid such that the navigational aid can then begin showing a visual indication (e.g., text or graphical information such as an icon) of the location of fuel stations on the screen. Additionally, the location receiver indicates to the filter when the navigational aid is close to the programmed destination. At that point, the filter can be informed that it should start showing garages or areas where the vehicle can be parked without having cluttered the screen with parking garages that were not close to the destination. Similarly, when in need of other services (e.g., hotel or restaurant services), the navigational aid can display preferred brands (while omitting non-preferred brands) and make reservations when a communication system is included which is capable of communicating with the service provider. Additionally, prices or relative prices for the services may also be indicated.
