Abstract:
A transporter for manually transporting cartons of wire or cable has a horizontal support member having first and second pieces, first and second spaced-apart vertical support members, and first and second axial inserts attached to the vertical support members for insertion into entry holes in a reel or carton. A collapsible handle is affixed to the support structure and one or more stabilization members prevent the carton from rotating as wire is dispensed from the carton.
Abstract:
A container for the dispensing of electrical or communications cable has an external carton which receives a reel of cable and is supported by left and right supports. A continuous axial passageway through the container extends through the left panel of the carton, the left support, the spindle of the reel, the right support, and the right panel of the carton so that an elongate connecting rod may be passed through the container.
Abstract:
A system for dispensing wire or cable from at least one carton has one or more reels disposed in the carton and a toolbox disposed to be above the carton. The tool box has a floor, left and right walls, and top and bottom fastening holes such that an axial rod may be inserted through the fastening holes, through the carton(s), and secured to a cart. The system preferably includes a drawing board that can be attached to the tool box.
Abstract:
A container for the dispensing of wire or cable has an external carton which receives a reel of cable as supported by two caddies. Each caddy has an inwardly extending substantially cylindrical bushing which is received in a central hole of a respective cable reel flange. The cylindrical bushings are disposed on an axis which is a first distance from the upper surface of the bottom panel of the carton. The largest radius of each reel flange is preselected to be smaller than this such that the reel may freely rotate inside of the carton on the bushings. Cable is pulled through a slot in the carton's front panel. Preferably, left and right panels of the carton each have an arbor hole formed therein which receives an axial rod, the rod also extending through the reel and caddies. The axial rod may be used to join two or more containers together and may further serve as a support for attachment of a wheel truck on one end of the joined-together containers and a handle at its other end. An alternative, four-wheeled cart has multiple axial rods. An alternative hand truck likewise receives multiple axial rods through respective container passageways. In one embodiment, cable may be pulled through one or more pass-through slots formed in the tops and bottoms of stacked containers, such that cable from multiple containers is drawn through one slot on the top of the stack.
Abstract:
A system for dispensing electrical communications cable includes first and second containers of wire or cable wound on reels placed inside respective first and second cartons. The first and second cartons are disposed to be adjacent one another and a clear passageway extends completely through the cartons, the reels, and any internal support structures in the cartons that support the reels. An elongate rod is disposed in the clear passageway and extends at least from the left panel of the first carton to the right panel of the second carton.

Abstract:
A hand truck allows for the transportation of containers, where each container has a passageway therethrough. The hand truck has a flat bottom member that receives and supports a vertical stack of the containers and vertical members are affixed to the bottom member. Cross members are joined to the one or more vertical members, and each cross member has a rod-receiving hole that is formed therein such that the holes are vertically spaced apart from each other. The hand truck also has a plurality of elongate support rods. A first end of each support rod is inserted through the container passageway, is inserted into a respective cross member hole, and is fastened to the cross member to prevent its withdrawal. A second end of each support rod is enlarged so as to affix the container or containers to the respective cross member.
