Abstract: A resilient cable caddy comprising a portable housing for storing reels of cable that has a lower base with a hinged top forming an enclosure for the reel. A reel of cable is rotatably mounted within the interior. A handle formed by abutting base and top portions enables carrying. Each reel comprises a spool with a central axle coupled at each end to spaced apart end caps, being retained by mounting rings. The spindles have bearing rings journalled to bearing races defined in the end caps. Both spindles comprise hubs disposed within case gudgeons. A two-piece spindle has a removable hub portion fitted to an internal socket. When reels are transported they may be stacked vertically atop one another with the one piece spindle engaging the empty and exposed spindle hub socket of an upper reel. Caddies may also be opened and stacked vertically for transportation.

Abstract: A tippet spool is self-orientating when displayed on pegs at retail. The tippet spool also has structures adapted to interlock adjacent tippet spools in a stack with one spool rotatable with respect to its neighbors. The tippet spool is self orientating because of an asymmetrical central opening with the center of mass of the tippet spool opposite the portion of the central opening furthest from the center of the spool.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a wire spool caddy for releasably holding at least one cylindrical spool having an outer diameter while a wire or the like is being unwound from the spool, the caddy comprising an elongated frame which includes first and second spaced apart ends; a plurality of generally parallel fixed rods which each extend between and are connected to the first and second ends; and at least one movable rod which is generally parallel to the fixed rods and which extends between and is pivotably connected to the first and second ends; wherein at least two of the fixed rods are separated by a first distance which is less than the diameter of the spool to thereby form a bottom support for the spool; and wherein the movable rod is pivotable between a first position in which the movable rod is separated from an adjacent fixed rod by a second distance that is less than the diameter of the spool, and a second position in which the movable rod is separated from the adjacent fixed rod by a third distance which is greater than the diameter of the spool; whereby when the movable rod is in its first position the spool is retained between the movable rod and the fixed rods, and when the movable rod is in its second position the spool may be removed or inserted between the movable rod and the adjacent fixed rod.

Abstract: The stand comprises a base and an upright fixed to and integral with the base and is preferably injection molded as a single integral unit. Such stands are intended to be used in pairs. The upright has a collared hole or other support means for supporting an end of a spool or reel support axle so that a wire dispenser may be rotatably mounted on such axle supported by a pair of stands. The stands are securably and releasably engageable with one another as by a snap fit so that two such stands may be temporarily secured together to form a compact structure for storage or transport. This interfitting combination can also be used as a workstand whose upper work surface is the inverted base of one of the stands.Preferably two such stands are also inter-connectable at their tops so that the inverted base serves as an elevated work surface.The upright may also be fitted with beam-supporting cavities for supporting the ends of a beam so that the combined structure may form a stable framework for a table or work surface.
