Abstract:
A method of determining the energy level of an electromagnetic field (EMF) received from an EMF source (EMFS) and for identifying the EMFS is provided, the method using a plurality of EMF sensing apparatuses to combine data gathered by the apparatuses in order to identify the level and the sources of the EMF at locations over time. Historical and anticipated EMF-related data is used to warn a user of EMF levels above a preset value. Past, current and future anticipated EMF levels are adapted to be displayed on a map. Methods thereof, apparatuses thereof and computer-readable mediums storing the methods are within the scope of the present invention.

The invention pertains to a method and an apparatus adapted to carry out a mechanism for managing navigation among information elements displayed on axes thereof when information elements are not displayed on a display area, the method generally comprising displaying an array, or an axis, of information elements adapted to receive thereon information elements, the array of information elements virtually extending outside a viewing area, the array of information elements including a portion thereof having no information elements thereon, and displaying an indicator of a non-displayed information element present on the axis of information elements outside the viewing area.

A method of displaying an on-screen graphical user interface, the method comprising providing a plurality of user-selectable icons, and a plurality of content icons representing respective items of contents; generating image data for the on-screen user-interface with a multi-dimensional array which includes a first axis comprising the plurality of user-selectable icons adapted to be arranged in a specific direction and which is also adapted to include a second axis comprising the plurality of content icons in a direction intersecting, or abutting, the first axis; and outputting the image data for the on-screen user interface related to displaying the contents to a display, wherein the generating displays the second axis to intersect, or abut, the first axis.
Abstract:
A method for presenting information on a timeline is provided, the method comprising displaying the plurality of documents on the timeline using either a linear or a non-linear timescale. Documents presented along a linear timeline can switch to a non-linear timeline and vice-versa. The plurality of documents can be search results provided along the timeline representing a time attribute of each result. More than one timeline can be used to display documents, each timeline using a timescale that can be similar or dissimilar. An interface and a system for implementing the method is also provided.

A method of managing visual distinctive features on axes is provided, the method comprising providing a first group of documents having a first attribute in common, displaying the first group of documents on a first axis, providing a second group of documents having a second attribute in common, displaying the second group of documents on a second axis and displaying a visual distinctive feature in connection with a set of documents having a third attribute in common, the set of document comprising at least one document from the first group of documents and at least one document from the second group of documents, wherein the third attribute is attributed to each document in the set of documents irrespective of the position of each document in relation to one another on the first axis and second axis, the visual distinctive feature discriminating the documents associated with the third attribute from the documents not associated with the third attribute on the axes.
