Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for controlling connection of a peripheral (T) to an access point (AP) in shared network. It consists in pre-initializing (A) the access point through a local command of that access point, the pre-initializing step enabling at least the access point to be configured to provisionally match the peripheral, simultaneously initializing (B) the access point (AP) and the peripheral (T) through a substantially concurrent local command of the access point respectively of the peripheral, locally measuring and storing the initializing duration (Tsp), (TT) of each local command at the access point respectively at the peripheral, and, following provisional matching of the access point and the peripheral, transmitting and receiving (Co), at least from the peripheral to the access point, the value of the stored initializing duration (Tsp) and comparing (C1) by equality comparison, the value of the locally measured initializing duration with the received initializing duration. If the received initializing duration (TTr) is substantially equal to the locally measured initializing duration (Tap) the peripheral being accepted as recognized connection requesting peripheral, the follow-up of the peripheral connection is authorized by invoking (D) a permanent matching procedure. Otherwise, the connection follow-up is inhibited (E) at the access point. The invention is useful for managing control of connection of peripherals to an access point in shared network such as WIFI, Bluetooth, online Powerline Communication or the like.
Abstract:
A method is provided for the restitution of multimedia data transmitted by a gateway to a communications terminal via a first transmission channel. The method includes the following steps: interrogating the terminal via the gateway about its capabilities of restituting the multimedia data; transmitting, to the gateway via the terminal, a list of commands that it is capable of executing; transmitting, via the gateway, multimedia data with the aid of at least one series of commands that is part of the list of commands that can be executed by the terminal, and restituting, in this terminal, the multimedia data with the aid of the received command.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for transmitting a multicast stream in a data exchange network, at an access point (AP). It consists in analyzing (A) the multicast stream by data frames to detect the multicast address at the link (MUAx, x=2) of the multicast stream {MUF{T[MUA]}), substituting (B) in each frame at the multicast address (MUAx) at the link a unicast address (UNAy) of a potential receiver terminal (Ty) of the multicast stream to generate a substituted multicast frame (T[UNAy]), transmitting (C) instead of the multicast stream at least one unicast stream, a succession of substituted multicast frames to the terminal at the unicast address at the link. This allows taking advantage of the acknowledgement mechanisms of frames of the transmission of unicast stream for substituted multicast frames. The invention is applicable to transmission of multicast stream in WiFi or CPL network.
