Abstract: A disposable air/water valve may include a main stem providing an air passage through the center bore of the main stem. A method for manufacturing a disposable air/water valve may include several steps. The main stem is molded, and placed in a mold for over-molding seals onto the main stem. Prior to the next steps, the retaining ring, button cap, and boot may be molded. The back end of the main step is placed through the center of the retaining ring and resilient member (e.g., spring). The button cap is then placed on and secured to the main stem.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for forming a vaporized peracetic acid, with sterilization taking place at ambient temperature. In particular, the disclosed peracetic bubbler technology may achieve sustained peracid acid concentrations. This bubbler and vaporization technology requires no further mechanical assistance, such as pumps, to move peracetic acid vapor into the interior components of an endoscope or any other medical device or medical appliance.

Abstract: Embodiments of a system and method for processing and recognizing non-contact types of human input to prevent contamination are generally described herein. In example embodiments, human input is captured, recognized, and used to provide active input for control or data entry into a user interface. The human input may be provided in variety of forms detectable by recognition techniques such as speech recognition, gesture recognition, identification recognition, and facial recognition. In one example, the human input recognition techniques are used in connection with a device cleaning workflow used to obtain data and human input during cleaning procedures while minimizing cross-contamination between the contaminated device or person and other objects or persons. In another example, the human input recognition techniques are used in connection with a device tracking workflow used to obtain data and human input while tracking interactions with and locations of the contaminated or uncontaminated device.

Abstract: The invention is directed towards a system and method for decontaminating a device. The system comprises a chamber defining an enclosed space and includes a pump. The enclosed space is configured to withstand pressure changes within the space and receive a device that includes a lumen. The system includes a controller configured to control a temperature and pressure within the chamber, a vacuum pump in fluid communication with the enclosed space, and a source of a decontaminating substance. A vaporizer or atomizer is in fluid communication with the source of the decontaminating substance and is configured to provide a vaporized decontaminating substance within the enclosed space. The pump has an inlet and an outlet. One of the inlet and outlet is in fluid communication with the enclosed space of the chamber and the other of the inlet and outlet is configured to be in fluid communication with the lumen.
