摘要: A weathertight and EMI shielded cabinet (10) for housing electronic equipment is disclosed. The cabinet (10) is structurally supported and framed by a tubular frame (30) which defines a generally rectangular structure having upper horizontal frame members (34, 36), lower horizontal frame members (38, 40), and vertical corner posts (42). The tubular frame (30) may include internal cross members (60, 62) to further reinforce the structure. Door openings are further defined by vertical door frame members (56). A plurality of outer skins (80, 84, 110, 111, 112, 90, 102) are welded to the tubular frame (30) and substantially enclosing it and hiding it from view. The outer skins also define the door frames (90, 92, 94, 102, 104, 106) welded to the vertical door frame members (36) and upper and lower horizontal frame members (34, 36, 38, 40), forming a generally vertical door-frame mating plane. The doors (16, 18) are hung in the door openings and operable to substantially close the door opening and meet the door-frame mating plane. Flat strips of environmental and EMI shielding gaskets (100, 132, 138) are used between the door (16, 18) and the door frame skins (90, 92, 94, 102, 104, 106) where they meet in the door-frame mating plane.

摘要: The built-in cooling system (12) is located centrally in the cabinet enclosure (10) and includes at least one plenum (22) having an interior chamber mounted in a roof area (24) of the enclosure (10). The plenum (22) is in fluid isolation from the air within the enclosure (10), but has at least one vent (66) being in fluid association with the ambient air outside of the enclosure (10). The plenum (22) is coupled to a heat exchanger column (20) located centrally in the enclosure (10) with an internal air passageway (78) with intake and exit ports (70, 72), and having an external air passageway (76) with intake and exit ports. The external air passageway (76) is in fluid association with the chamber of the plenum (22). At least one heat sink (40) is mounted above the electronic equipment in the plenum (22) between the external air passageway exit port (48) and the vent (66) of the plenum (22). The internal air in the heat exchanger column (20) is circulated by an internal air fan (26) and the external air therein is circulated by an external air fan (25).

摘要: A weathertight and EMI shielded door configuration for a cabinet (10) includes at least one door opening defined by an upper, a lower, and two vertical frame members (34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 56). An upper, a lower and two vertical door skin members (90, 102, 94, 106, 110, 111) are bonded to door frame members (34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 56). The door skin members (90, 102, 94, 106, 110, 111) are formed to substantially cover the upper, lower, and vertical frame members, and defines a door recess having a depth and a substantially vertical and planar door-frame mating surface. A door (16, 18) having a thickness substantially equal to the depth of the door recess is hung in the door opening. The perimeter of the doors interior surface meets the upper, lower and two vertical door skin members (90, 102, 94, 106, 110, 111) at the planar door-frame mating surface. An EMI and environmental gasket (98) is positioned at the door-frame mating surface. In a double door configuration (120), the door sections (122, 124) meet at a planar and elongated door-door mating surface that is also sealed with an EMI and environmental gasket (138, 142, 132).

摘要: A bracket for fuse holders includes heat sink fins for cooling the fuse holders. The bracket has a main body conforming to the shape of the fuse holders and mounting members or feet which can be attached, using self-clinching nuts, to a printed circuit board on which the fuse holders are mounted. The heat sink is formed of fins attached to the main body. When space is limited, the fins preferably have a rectangular U-shape to provide increased cooling area. The main body provides structural rigidity to prevent the fuse holders from being dislodged due to torquing of the fuse holder caps.
