摘要: According to one embodiment of the present invention, a computer system monitors information assets providing data for constructing a logical entity. The information assets are dependent upon each other for data and form a topology. The computer system receives an event message associated with an information asset. The event message includes information relating to one or more conditions of that information asset. The computer system processes the received event message to determine the presence of a change within the associated information asset that affects the topology. The change is determined based on the information relating to the one or more conditions within the received event message. The computer system further transmits a notification of the change to one or more entities in response to determining the presence of the change. Embodiments of the present invention further include a method and computer program product for monitoring information assets.

摘要: A method for embedding behavior tags in a source code so that a computer can choose the appropriate implementation technology to execute the source code comprising a Configuration Program (CP) and a Deployment Program (DP). The CP allows a user to define and modify a plurality of behavior tags in the behavior tag definitions. The CP also allows the user to define and modify the preferences as to the implementation technologies in an implementation technology preference list. The user then creates the source code with embedded behavior tags. The DP reads the source code and automatically selects the appropriate implementation technology based on the behavior tags. The DP gives preference to implementation technologies according to the implementation technology preference list. The result is that the user does not have to specify the implementation technology for the source code or configure the behavior tags to a specific implementation technology.

摘要: A liquid composition comprising a solution of a water-soluble metal compound convertible to metal oxide and a smaller amount of a hydrolytically stable water-soluble organic silicone which may be used to prepare binders, coatings and shaped bodies, especially fibres, of intimate mixtures of metal oxide and silica. Preferred silicones are polysiloxane, polyoxyalkylene copolymers and preferred metal compounds are salts of aluminium and zirconium. Phase-stabilized alumina, especially in the form of fibres, is a particularly important embodiment; transitional alumina can be stabilized up to 1400.degree. C without the appearance of separate phases of mullite and crystalline silica.

摘要: In accordance with the invention, cookies are automatically synchronized across multiple client machines on a network. A user registers all of the client machines for which he desires cookie synchronization under a single account with a cookie synchronization server. Each of the client machines is equipped with software that monitors all changes made to cookies at that machine and sends notifications of the changes to the cookie synchronization server. The cookie synchronization server stores the cookie change information in a log and sends it out to the other client machine in the account, which then update their cookies accordingly.

摘要: A system, apparatus, and method for sharing web modules amongst a plurality of other web applications are provided. Shared web modules are stored in an archive data structure for use with web applications. The web applications, and/or the web modules of the web applications, may include a designation file that identifies the shared web modules that are to be incorporated into the web modules for the web application. A runtime component selectively locates these shared web modules and logically merges them with the web modules of the web application according to precedence or priority of the shared web modules as designated by the shared web module designation file. The result is a logically merged web module that contains the shared web modules referenced in the shared web module designation file.

摘要: A set of programs allows a server computer that does not have an application installed to temporarily hand off a client request for the application to a peer server until the application is installed on the first server. The hand off is transparent to the client and temporary to the peer server. The server asynchronously starts the application, and when the application is ready for use, the first server stops sending requests to the peer server, and begins serving the requests. Since the first server has full session knowledge, it will be transparent to the client that the server servicing those requests temporarily changed.

摘要: A server and method allocates access to a digital video movie to clients for viewing upon demand. The server receives requests to view the movie and in response, compares a number of requests to concurrently view the movie to a threshold. If the number is less than the threshold, the server allocates access for a current request to an existing copy of the movie stored on one or more disks, using bandwidth previously reserved from the one or more disks for the movie. However, if the number exceeds the threshold, the server automatically reserves additional bandwidth for future viewers if available from the one or more disks for the movie. But, if the number exceeds the threshold but such additional bandwidth is not available, the server makes another copy of the movie on another disk provided the copy can be made before the most advanced viewer completes its viewing.
