    Abstract: A gravity flow liquid disinfectant dispensing reservoir comprised of a tapered base and a neck portion that extends centrally from the reservoir. An aperture located on the bottom of the reservoir facilitates the dispensing of liquid (i.e., disinfectant) from the reservoir into a holding tank. In another embodiment, a closed system for dispensing a liquid disinfectant into a tank containing liquid (effluent) and controlled via vacuum. The gravity flow device introduces disinfectant to the tank as the water level rises, giving the ultimate amount of contact time for treatment of effluent. Utilizing gravity and vacuum controlled dispensing of disinfectant dispenses disinfectant continuously in real time and provides for maximum contact time for minimal pathogen survival.

    Abstract: Racemic mixtures and enantiomerically pure forms of novel 1-[(2′-substituted)-piperazin-1′-yl]-isoquinolines are norepinephrine (NE) transporter (NET) inhibitor compounds. Compounds of the invention are considered therapeutic agents for central nervous system (CNS) diseases and disorders, without limitation, including neurodegeneration, anxiety, depression, attention deficit disorders, drug dependency, and post traumatic stress disorder. Examples of the chemical syntheses of the compounds of the invention are provided. The isoquinoline compounds of the invention competitively bind at NET at nanomolar concentrations. The isoquinoline agents of the invention bind selectively to NET over other competitive transporter targets and receptor binding sites, including those of serotonin and dopamine, amongst others. The chemical syntheses of the invention are suitable for labeling with radionuclide atoms. Radiolabeled forms of the novel 1-[(2′-substituted)-piperazin-1′-yl]-isoquinoline compounds are positron emission tomography and single photon emission tomography imaging tracers. Methods of in vivo imaging with the tracers within various subjects and tissues therein, including regions of the brain, are provided. Imaging methods with the tracers in combination other NET inhibitor agents are provided. The imaging methods within subjects allow quantitative detection of NET, determinations of NET distributions, and measures of tracer interactions at NET in the presence or absence of non-radioactive NET agents. The tracer imaging methods are suitable to locate, diagnose, identify, evaluate, detect or quantitate NET, or abnormalities of NET, or NE abnormalities; that are associated with various CNS diseases and disorders.

    Abstract: A chlorinator for wastewater treatment systems having a clarifier tank connected by a fluid line to a pump tank, which includes a reservoir of disinfectant fluid and a dosage container communicating with the reservoir, and a siphon communicating with the fluid line and dosage contain to dispense a determined quantity of disinfectant to the pump tank after flow through the fluid line has dropped below the flow rate of a drain in the siphon. The dosage container is vented to atmosphere to prevent vacuum lock in operation and communicates with the reservoir at a flow rate substantially smaller than it communicates with the siphon. Flow through the fluid line induces priming of a siphon for subsequent distribution of the quantity of disinfectant fluid into the pump tank after flow through the fluid line has dropped below the flow rate of a drain in the siphon, at which time disinfectant is drawn from the dosage container. As the dosage container outgoing flow rate far exceeds the dosage container incoming flow rate, once the disinfectant level drops below the point of communication between the dosage container and the pump tank, no further disinfectant is drawn into the pump tank. A near-uniform volume of disinfectant fluid is thereby supplied.

    Abstract: A chlorinator for wastewater treatment systems having a circulation pump, circulation tank, and return flow line, which includes a reservoir of disinfectant fluid and a dosage container communicating with the reservoir and the circulation tank to dispense a determined quantity of disinfectant during operation of the circulation pump.
