Abstract: An invasive medical probe includes an insertion tube, having a distal end for insertion in a body cavity of a patient. A metallic material is disposed over the distal tip of the insertion tube and extends from the tip so as to cover a portion of the distal end. An acoustic sensor is contained entirely within the portion of the distal end of the insertion tube that is covered by the metallic material.
