摘要： A method and apparatus for controlling power to relatively high power devices by adding or subtracting capacitance. A plurality of capacitors are connected in parallel. The plurality of capacitors are in series with the device. Operating power to the device can be adjusted by adding or subtracting capacitors in the device circuit. The high powered contactors are controlled by a small power control input from an electronic timer. In one embodiment the electronic timer comprises a digital timer/controller which is programmable to automatically actuate designated contactors at different pre-programmed times sensed to by the timer/controller based on accumulated operating time of the high powered device. The combination allows an easily adjustable yet small sized and relatively inexpensive set of components for adjusting high powered devices.

摘要： An apparatus, method, and system for increasing usable light to a target area. One aspect of the invention includes a lighting fixture with a visor. The visor includes an opening through which a controlled amount of light is allowed generally upwardly. A controlled amount of light within provides some uplighting above the target area or above the fixtures. In another aspect of the invention, a lighting system with a plurality of lighting fixtures would have at least some of the fixtures fitted with the visors with the openings to create a cumulative uplighting effect.

In one aspect, the light source is mounted in an independently pivotal yoke in the light fixture. A gearing arrangement automatically proportionally pivots the light source relative to any pivoting motion of the fixture over a range of motion such that a selected light source orientation can be approximately maintained regardless of aiming orientation of the fixture.

The primary beam, or at least a portion of the primary beam, is directed onto a secondary reflector which generates a secondary beam to the target space. Other options, enhancements, alternatives, and features are possibly utilized in the principles of the present invention whereby a primary light source is reflected off of a secondary reflector means. The secondary reflector can be configured in any number of contours, shapes, specularities, or other characteristics to alter and control the characteristics of the secondary beam.
