摘要： A method and system for determining the location of a mobile device in a communications network or the proximity of the device to a node in the network. A location request may be received for a mobile device served by a base station in the network. A set of nodes associated with the serving base station may then be tasked and downlink data collected at a first node, the downlink data from a downlink signal received from the serving base station. Downlink frame timing may then be determined as a function of the collected downlink data and uplink data collected at a second node as a function of the determined downlink frame timing. A geographic location for the device or proximity thereof to a node may be determined as a function of the collected uplink data.
