Abstract:
A command conversion interface between an image machine with a plurality of hard keys and an image requestor is disclosed. When the command conversion interface detects and determines the activation of a specific hard key of the image machine, digital image information from the image machine is provided for the image requestor through the command conversion interface to execute a designated task, which has not been built in the image machine. In the command conversion interface, the designated task is interpreted by a destination command script, and the destination command script is processed by a compiler along with the digital image information, then transmitted to the image requestor to execute the task. The relationship between the specific hard key and the designated task refers to a new correlation table of the command conversion interface.

A method and system is implemented on a host computer for operating upon a window system to update a graphic representation of a selected window item using an image information reading apparatus. The invention mainly includes an image cropping manager for providing a cropped image by cropping an image transmitted from the image capturing manager according to a size requested by a user; and an interface manager for providing a plurality of menu items each associated with at least a dialog box for setting the cropped image as a default image of a selected menu item. The plurality of menu items include Startup Screen, Wall Paper, System LOGO, Icon, Cursor, Screen Saver, Shutdown Screen, Theme, and Restore for updating an associated graphic representation. Eventually, an user can easily establish a personalized windows graphic environment with the assistance of the invention.

This specification discloses a multi-mode image processing method and the corresponding system. Multiple modes, including line art, gray level, and colors, are used to capture and store image information. An image capture device is used to capture a preliminary color image. An image analyzing device divides the preliminary color image into line art image areas, gray-level image areas, and color image areas. The image capture device captures an advanced line art image, an advanced gray-level image, and an advanced color image. Users can select the line art image areas, the gray-level image areas, and the color image areas in order to obtain the advanced line art image, the advanced gray-level image, and the advanced color image, respectively. An image storage device stores the multi-mode image information into a multi-mode image file.
