摘要： A carton for packaging ice cream and the like comprising a receptacle including operably connected front, bottom and rear panels. A cover having a cover panel and a closure flap is hingedly connected to the receptacle for sealing the carton. The front, bottom, rear, and cover panels each have left and right end flaps operably connected to their left and right edges. The end flaps are dimensioned such that upon folding they form substantially sealed left and right carton ends. In the preferred embodiment, a breakaway tab is detachably formed in the cover panel end flap. The front surface of the breakaway tab is secured to the rear panel end flap so as to minimize any gaps between the end flaps forming the carton ends. Upon initial opening of the carton, the breakaway tab is severed from the cover panel end flap permitting the consumer to readily gain access to the contents of the carton.

摘要： The present invention pertains to a design for a carton blank for significantly enhancing the seal of a carton for packaging semi-liquids such as ice cream or the like without compromising the adaptability of the carton blank to mechanical folding devices. The carton blank includes front, bottom rear, and cover panels. A closure flap is hingedly connected to a top edge of the cover panel. The closure flap includes a tear strip for enabling a consumer to readily gain access to the contents of the carton. An end flap extends from each edge of the cover, rear, bottom and front panels. A cover or glue tab extends from each edge of the closure flap. A membrane extends from each of the front panel end flaps and the front panel for forming a substantially continuous lip about a potion of the outer periphery of the carton. The front panel membrane includes notches or recess at each end for receiving the corresponding ends of the front panel end flap membranes.

摘要： The present invention pertains to a carton and a blank and a method for forming the carton for packaging ice cream or the like. The carton blank comprises front, bottom, rear and cover panels. A closure flap is hingedly connected to a top edge of the cover panel that opposes the rear panel. An end flap extends from each end edge of the cover panel, rear panel, bottom panel and front panel. A single tear strip is formed in the closure flap. Also, a single tear strip is formed in the end flap extending from the front panel. Upon removal of the tear strips, the carton can completely unfold and the contents therein can be readily accessed in brick form from all sides.
