    摘要: Apparatus, devices, assemblies, systems and methods of using w spring clips over spikes for holding railroad tie spikes down to wood and concrete railroad ties and hold the spike heads to the rails. A first embodiment can use rail tie plates with box holders for holding end portions of a w shaped spring steel clip to press against cap heads of railroad tie spikes. A second embodiment can use a rail tie plates with vertical supports for horizontal bars over heads of railroad tie spikes. A third embodiment can use rail tie plates with vertical studs and upper threaded ends with flat plates attached by nuts over heads of rail road tie spikes, and with cotter pins locking the nuts in place. Additional embodiments include metal structures fastened, welded and/or forged to tie plates for allowing w shaped spring clips with mid portions that hold down heads on spikes to prevent the spikes from coming out. Additional embodiments can use concave side C-clips, convex side C-clips, double hook C-clips in flat plate and fire form, G-Clips and W-Clips with notches on leg ends. The embodiments can be used with auxiliary plates having welded bars over notch openings to hold down both heads of stakes and footer edges of rails.

    摘要: Slip-joint pliers of the present invention comprise, in one embodiment, a pair of compound handles pivotally attached to jaw means being upper and lower jaw members having a manually adjustable slip-joint therein for providing at least two different maximum jaw opening positions, each having a different separation angle. The jaw openings are selectable by movement of a lever, for example, attached to a keyed pivot pin in the slip-joint. The jaw openings are selectable with minimal movement of the compound handles as a result of spring biasing between the jaw members and abutting engagement with the compound handles. A further embodiment without the compound handles has the spring biasing between the jaw arms and a limiting bracket, for example, mounted on pivot pins in the handles attached to the jaw arms to restrict the separation of the handles in an outwardly direction so that the spring will constantly bias the jaw arms apart so that the operation of the lever described herein, or other device, functions in a similar manner as in the compound pliers. In the first embodiment, for example, operation of the manual slip-joint causes the jaw members to automatically separate to achieve a large maximum jaw opening position. The method of using the pliers of the present invention requires that the manually adjustable slip-joint be positioned in a disengaged mode to allow the jaw members to move to a predetermined separation angle. At which point, the slip-joint is engaged which allows the use of the pliers to grip work pieces of different sizes. By use of either one or both hands, the jaw members may be moved to another predetermined separation angle.

    摘要: The tie plates, normally, made of steel, have a wrap-around device that gives additional support. The wrap-around device goes around or partially the tie and takes various forms as such. It may be a U-shaped bracket with the top section welded to the tie plate. The vertical legs extend beyond the bottom of the tie and have a bolt between the bottoms of the legs. The brackets may be further secured to the tie by lag screws. The tie plate would still have conventional spikes. In another embodiment, it may be shaped as a metal box that is attached to the tie plate by welding with bolts or lag screws in the sides of the box. The design of these devices transfers weight vertically as well as sideways from the wheels. If the ties are made of concrete, the box design allows the concrete to flow therethrough.
