摘要： A locking pliers includes a pliers-body, a rotating shaft and an operating and pivoting unit. The pliers-body includes a fixed jaw, a movable jaw and a jaw end member disposed on the movable jaw. The rotating shaft is rotatably connected with the fixed jaw about a pivot axis and is movable along the pivot axis, and has clamp and insert ends. A clamp member is disposed on the clamp end. A pivot member extends through the fixed jaw and connected with the rotating shaft and is operable to move the rotating shaft close to or away from the fixed jaw. A retaining member extends through the fixed jaw and the rotating shaft to retain the rotating shaft to a first or second position. With the rotating shaft rotated between first and second positions, the locking pliers can be shifted to two types of use.

摘要： A linear ratchet drive mechanism operable single handedly for pivotally actuating one or more plier jaws in a diverging or converging direction for gripping objects under extreme pressure. A drive rod is received in a handle body for axial movement with one end of the drive rod pivotally linked to the jaw or jaws in order to actuate the jaws. An actuating lever is pivotally connected at one end to the handle body and extends from the handle body for single hand actuation by squeezing the lever against spring biased towards the handle body. The actuating lever is provided with a leverage arm that extends from the pivoting end of the actuating lever and is pivotally connected to a drive grip lever having an aperture surrounding the drive rod for binding against the drive rod for thereby driving the drive rod in one direction when the drive grip lever is canted and moved by squeezing the actuating lever. An incremental stop mechanism is also provided to quickly retain the jaw spacing after initial use of the device.

First and second moldings on the jaws project into the mouth. A forced lock has a pawl and a toothed segment on the moldings preventing the pliers from opening without the ram previously running against the ferrule. The toothed segment on the first molding has a course corresponding to a movement curve of the jaws. The pawl on the second molding is movable by a spring but fixed in position. The first and/or second molding is formed in one piece with the bars.

The hand tool includes a first jaw assembly including a first rail, a second jaw assembly including a second rail shorter than the first rail, a pivot member coupling the jaw assemblies for pivoting movement between an open position and a closed position. The lock button assembly is operable between a locked position, engaging the first and second rails to releasably hold the jaw assemblies in the closed position, and an unlocked position, in which the second rail is disengaged.
