摘要： A multi-function tool includes a cross-jaw module removably attached to a pair of channel-shaped handles with a pair of clips. Each clip removably attaching the tang of each jaw of the cross-jaw module to one of the handles. The multi-function tool also includes a spring biased wedge lock to positively lock a plurality of pivotal attached ancillary implements in an open position. An anti-rotational washer located between adjacent implements prevents rotation of a non-selected implement. The washers include a protrusion that is received in a slot in the handle.

摘要： The forks of a bicycle receive an axle having threaded ends. A tube surrounds the axle and carries ball bearings on which a wheel housing is rotatable with a space between the tube and the housing. Specially shaped seals engage the wheel housing and the tube between the ball bearings to keep lubricant out of the space between the seals. A special lever lock on one end of the axle cooperates with a nut on the other end of the axle to draw together the parts engaged with the axle, the tube and the housing.

摘要： A hand knife has a removable blade. Side plates are spaced apart on opposite sides of a main frame having a rectangular socket in one end thereof. One side plate has a non-circular aperture therein and the other side plate has a circular opening therein. A pin is movable on a transverse axis relative to the main frame and has a non-circular portion in the aperture and a circular portion in the opening. A blade has an exteriorly rectangular end slidable in a predetermined direction to fit the socket. The end interiorly has a keyhole opening, the circular portion of which fits the larger, circular part of the pin and the rectangular portion of which is open ended in the predetermined direction and fits the smaller, non-circular portion of the pin. A spring normally urges the circular portions into interengagement. A button on the pin, when pressed, overcomes the spring and moves the non-circular portion into sliding engagement with the rectangular portion of the keyhole opening. The blade can then be moved in the predetermined direction relative to the main frame. In another form, a springy lever on the main frame is movable out of engagement with a notch in the blade to release the blade for rotation about the pin to a position in which the lever indexes against the socket end of the blade.

摘要： A multi-function tool includes two channel-shaped handles having a first side wall and a second side wall forming a channel therebetween. An interlocking mechanism includes a first plate extending from the first side wall, and a second plate extending from the second side wall. At least one of the first plates has a periphery with a notch formed therein. At least one of the second side walls has a post extending therefrom. Each handle is releasably engageable by alignment of at least one post of one of the handles with at least one notch of the other handle. The multi-function tool also includes an interchangeable implement including a pair of handles with implement engaging means. An axle assembly extends transversely through the openings formed in the first and second plates and includes a first end member, a second end member, a pair of buttons and a spring. The spring is disposed between each of the buttons to bias the buttons into engagement with the end members. An interchangeable implement is pivotally attached to the axle. The implement has a working portion and an opposed tang portion provided with handle engaging means.

摘要： A gas-actuated release system is incorporated into a conventional ejection seat of an aircraft for freeing a pilot from his survival gear which could hinder his escape from the aircraft in a ground emergency. The system includes fail-safe features which prevent its operation when the pilot ejects from the aircraft via the ejection seat system. Flexible gas lines between the survival gear and the ejection seat are equipped with tension release connectors which pull apart upon separation of the pilot and survival gear from the ejection seat after ejection from the aircraft.

摘要： A multi-function hand tool with a pivotally collapsible jaw-type tool that has a jaw lock which mechanically prevents the jaw-type tool from collapse. The jaw lock mechanism is contained within the jaw pivot joint of the jaw-type tool, and may be partially extended as a push button to prevent unwanted handle collapse. A plurality of blades are pivotally attached to the opposite end of the multi-function tool, which has a blade locking mechanism wherein the blade lock is pivoted about an axis located distal to the blade fastener/pivot axis. Each handle of the multi-function tool may be made of two individual handle halves that unite to form the handle, but that provide very precise tensioning, or the handles may be of a single channel shape using an infinitely adjustable threaded fastener and sleeve to provide precise adjustment of the multiple blades.
