摘要: A blade switch for increased interface scalability is provided. The blade switch may address interface scalability by having each of the switch linecards manage its interfaces locally and may use the concept of virtual and local interfaces for intelligent forwarding. The blade switch may appear as a single network switch having a single bridge ID from the network perspective during operation and from the customer perspective during configuration.

摘要: The application discloses a new digital IIR filter structure which uses at least one fewer multiplier than presently available in current digital IIR filter structures. In particular, by constraining one or both endpoint values (0 and fs/2) to unity, the disclosed approach uses 2 multiply operations instead of 3 for first-order structures and 3 multiply operations instead of 4 or 5 for second-order structures. This multiplier reduction enhances the capacity of the current audio equalizer digital signal processor by 30%.

摘要: A data communication device automatically configures its own communication ports based on attributes of a remote device with which it communicates. The process of configuring the communication ports includes monitoring a communications protocol associated with a remote device on a given communication port of the data communication device without participating in the communications protocol. The data communication device detects an attribute such as a network address associated with the remote device based on the monitored communications. In response to detecting the attribute of the remote device, the data communication device selects one of multiple configuration profiles depending on the detected attribute of the remote device to configure the given communication port.
