    摘要: An electrical switching apparatus interface assembly provides remote actuation of the operating handle of a circuit breaker. The interface assembly includes the circuit breaker, a second switching apparatus, such as an actuating handle disposed in a remote location from the circuit breaker, a connector and an operating handle attachment including a handle-engaging segment for securely engaging the circuit breaker operating handle and an interfacing segment for receiving the connector. The actuating handle is operable between ON and OFF positions corresponding to ON and OFF positions, respectively, of the circuit breaker operating handle. The connector interfaces or links the circuit breaker to the actuating handle. In this manner, when the actuating handle is moved from the ON or OFF position, the connector moves the circuit breaker operating handle in a likewise manner.

    摘要: A miniature circuit breaker incorporating ground fault protection and arc fault protection includes main separable contacts. An operating mechanism actuated by a trip mechanism opens the main separable contacts in response to predetermined current conditions. Auxiliary separable contacts are disposed in series with the main separable contacts. A solenoid having a movable plunger opens and closes the auxiliary separable contacts in response to a remote external signal. A ground fault trip circuit detects a ground fault, and an arc fault trip circuit detects an arc fault. An actuator mechanism, energizable by the ground fault trip circuit and the arc fault trip circuit, actuates the plunger to open the auxiliary separable contacts.

    摘要: A current throttle resistor external to a contactor device protects an electrical power distribution circuit coupling a load to a power line. The contactor has electrical switching contacts in series with the load and the line, and for example, an electromagnetically controllable switch for opening the contacts. A current sensor is coupled to the controllable switch for opening of the contacts upon occurrence of a high current fault in the power distribution circuit exceeding a predetermined threshold. A resistive element in series with the power distribution circuit between the line and the load, provides a voltage drop for limiting current during the high current fault. The resistive element can be a nichrome strip or similar positive temperature coefficient resistance having a low cool resistance, and is thermally isolated from the controllable switch by mounting in a resistor housing external to the contactor. To maximize resistance and minimize space, the nichrome strip is bent in an elliptical arc between two leads that protrude from the resistor housing, for coupling into the circuit on the load side of the contactor.

    摘要: A circuit breaker has a set of remotely controllable secondary contacts electrically connected in series with the main contacts which provide overcurrent or fault current protection. An operating mechanism opens and closes the set of main contacts. The secondary contacts are opened and closed by a latching solenoid. The latching solenoid includes a plunger latchable to a first position, which opens the set of secondary contacts, and to a second position which closes the set of secondary contacts. The latching solenoid also includes an open/close coil which when energized with a first polarity signal operates the plunger to the first position and which when energized with an opposite second polarity signal operates the plunger to the second position. A circuit is structured for cooperation with a remote control circuit for energizing the coil with the first polarity signal or, alternatively, the second polarity signal.
