    摘要: Method and system for generating dynamic content. A request and associated information is received for generating a dynamic content page (DCP). The DCP is generated by a DCP generation engine by integrating a number of pieces of content accessible from respective sources. The content pieces to be included in the DCP are identified and arranged in a fashion consistent with the request and the associated information. A locator is then associated with the DCP, so that the DCP can be subsequently located through the locator. Such generated DCP and/or locator are provided as a response to the search query.

    摘要: Techniques are disclosed for automatically annotating a document to offer, to a viewer, a choice of operations that a user can take relative to identified entities to which the document refers, where the choice of operations offered in relation to each such entity is appropriate to and based on the types of that entity. In one embodiment of the invention, for each “interesting” entity within a document, a mechanism automatically determines one or more types for that entity. The mechanism automatically annotates the document so that an application will present entity-type-specific data (including operation choices) that is generated by modules that are mapped to the types of the entities within the document. The annotations comprise metadata that indicates types of each “interesting” entity. The entity-type-specific data may be presented along with the rest of the document. A user need not navigate to a different document prior to viewing the data.

    摘要: A system for automatic proximity-based preloading of relevant information in portable devices pre-loads a portable device such as a mobile telephone, a personal digital assistant (PDA) or portable computer before the occurrence of a trip or event, with information relevant to the user's current or upcoming tasks. The system locates and loads into the portable device only the information required by the user for near term projects, meetings, or trips. The system is generally comprised of an information catalog, a proximity estimator, a relevance estimator, an information retriever, and a device loader. The information catalog contains a list of the information sources and items to which the user has access and from which the system of the invention will retrieve data to be loaded into the mobile device. The proximity estimator determines the proximity of various relevant information items to the user's tasks based on distance, time, and/or association. The relevance estimator combines these proximity measures into a single relevance score. The most relevant information is retrieved by the information retriever and loaded onto the portable device by the device loader.
