Abstract: Modular carpet tiles having multiple layers are described, including a laminate layer having a compatibilizing agent. The laminate layer can include at least one polyolefin functionalized with at least one unsaturated organic acid and/or at least one unsaturated organic acid anhydride, such as maleic anhydride. The functionalized polyolefin can have an acid number from about 5 to about 55 mg KOH/g. Methods of making the tiles are also described.
