    摘要: A device is provided for use with a dither tone signal and an information signal. The device includes a laser diode, an electro-optic modulator, a first filter and a second filter. The laser diode can output a first light signal, whereas the electro-optic modulator can transmit a second light signal. The first filter can generate a first filtered signal based on the information signal. The second filter can generate a second filtered signal based on the dither tone signal. The first light signal is based on the dither tone signal, the information signal and the first filtered signal. The second light signal is based on the first light signal, the information signal, the dither tone signal and the second filtered signal. The filtered signals reduce or cancel the undesired leaked/interfering signals.

    摘要: An in-line distortion generator for coupling in-line with a non-linear device (NLD) produces an output signal of useful amplitude, but with low composite triple beat and cross modulation distortions. The distortion generator comprises an instant controlled non-linear attenuator which utilizes the non-linear current flowing through a pair of diodes to provide the proper amount of signal attenuation over the entire frequency bandwidth. The distortion generator circuitry is always matched to the NLD, thereby ensuring a frequency response that is predictable and predefined. The distortion generator may also include a temperature compensation circuit to ensure consistent operation throughout a wide temperature range.

    摘要: This anti clipping circuit is for a laser transmitter used to transmit sub-carrier multiplexed signals for CATV applications. The circuit design is based on actual clipping measurements showing the specific time and duration of the clipping events is random. The individual clipping pulses interval is fixed, every 4 us. A PHEMT peak detection circuit is used in conjunction with a missing pulse detector/timer to catch all the clipping events. Thus the laser bias current is adjusted automatically at the specific time of the clipping event and for the duration of all the clipping pulses in the event. The controlled increase and decrease of the lasers bias current is DC coupled back into the normal DC bias path via a diode. This gives the anti clipping circuit noise isolation when there are no clipping events and avoids laser clipping during the laser current recovery time as when using an AC coupling scheme.

    摘要: An SQL program executor and an SOL compiler both include options for avoiding recompilations of execution plans whenever the runtime object and the compile time object referenced by an execution plan meet predefined schema similarity criteria. Thus, recompilation is sometimes avoided even though the compile time object has been altered or the run time object is not the same object as the compile time object. To enable late binding, schema information is stored in each execution plan for each object to be accessed by the execution plan. The stored schema information is a subset of the full object schema, and includes information about all the aspects of the objects to be accessed which must remain unchanged in order for the execution plan to be operable. While executing a compiled program, the SQL executor avoids recompilations of execution plans whenever the runtime object and the compile time object referenced by an execution plan meet predefined schema similarity criteria. When a recompilation of an SQL program is required, only the execution plans which do not meet the schema similarity criteria are recompiled if the compiled program has been assigned appropriate runtime parameters. The late binding features of the SQL executor also enable a compiled program to access objects distinct from the objects referenced by the program at compile time. Similarly, the SQL compiler includes the ability to recompile only those execution plans which do not meet the schema similarity criteria and thus are inoperable.
