    摘要: A variable ratio gearbox is combined with a drive motor and an interactive control system. A coaxial shaft connects to a differential gear set to power an output shaft. The transmission has a drive shaft with an inner shaft and an outer shaft. A friction disk nonrotatably mounts to said outer shaft and a shifter connected to the friction disk moves the friction disk along the outer shaft. At least two cones engage the periphery of the friction disk and a differential gear set combines the rotation of the inner and outer shaft.

The body member further comprises a gauge cutter positioned above the moveable stabilizing member and below the fixed stabilizing surface to expand the pilot hole to the final gauge.

    摘要: A drill bit has a cylindrical main body, a formation cutting face at the lower end of the body, and means by which the upper end of the bit can be connected into a drill string. A drilling fluid flow passageway extends axially through the main body and provides flow of drilling fluid to the drilling face. The passageway contains flow restrictions for balancing the flow of drilling fluid onto the bit face. The restrictors contain diffusing stages for reducing the velocity of the drilling fluid. Flow isolating paths are formed on the bit face to prevent diversion or channeling of fluid flow on the bit face.

    摘要: A stabilized drill bit has a cylindrical main body, a formation cutting face at the lower end of the body, and means by which the upper end of the bit can be connected into a drill string. A drilling fluid flow passageway extends axially through the main body and provides flow of drilling fluid to the drilling face. A plurality of hydraulic actuated stabilizing members are arranged circumferentially about the throat and within the main body. Stabilizing members have a borehole wall engaging face thereon which can be retracted flush with the outer surface of the main body, and extended away from the main body face and into contact with the borehole wall, thereby stabilizing the drill bit as the bit is rotated while making hole. Hydraulic means is connected to the stabilizing members by which the members are progressively extended toward the borehole wall as the members become worn, and which normally prevents retraction of the stabilizing members so long as drilling fluid pressure is effected within the passageway. The stabilizing members are retracted when the drilling fluid is reduced to a predetermined value.

    摘要: The invention is directed to a power transmission system including a noise isolation and control system. In an example, a bearing support member is arranged to support bearings which in turn support high speed conical rotors. The bearing support member itself is not rigidly fastened to the outer case of the mechanism. The bearing support member is not directly attached to the outer case, but is supported in the case by radially oriented attachment members which inhibit or do not transmit radial vibrations to the case. In this way, the vibration, or noise, produced by the high speed conical rotors and their bearings and driving gears, is effectively isolated from and not transmitted to the outer case. The invention also relates to a control system to provide for optimization of the power transmission system operation.
