    摘要: An exemplary door frame assembly that is useful in an elevator system includes a plurality of door frame members including a header, a sill and a plurality of jambs. The door frame members are configured to be secured into a desired position along a hoistway. At least one guide rail bracket is supported by at least one of the door frame members. The guide rail bracket is moveable relative to the door frame member between a handling position in which the guide rail bracket is generally parallel to at least one of the header or the sill and a deployed position in which the guide rail bracket is generally perpendicular to the at least one of the header or sill.

    摘要: An elevator brake assembly (16) includes a plate (26) having damper assemblies (28) including at least one spring (30) for controlling movement of the plate (26) relative to a magnetic field generator (20). A biasing member (36) forces the plate (26) into engagement with a disk (22) fixed to a rotating shaft (18). A force created by the magnetic field generator (20) overcomes force of the biasing member (32) to draw the plate (26) into contact with the magnetic field generator (20). The impact between the plate (26) and the magnetic field generator (20) is controlled by the damping assembly (28) to substantially reduce impact noise.

    摘要: A method to fabricate an integrated elevator drive machine and brake assembly is disclosed. In the method, an outer wall segment of a drive machine housing is cast to form a base of a brake assembly. In casting the outer wall segment to form the base of the brake assembly, a metal blank of higher magnetic permeability is cast or embedded into the casing of the outer wall segment and is machined to form the base. Alternately, the casting of the outer wall segment may be dimensioned and configured so that the casting of the outer wall segment itself forms the base. The outer wall segment is secured for machining a bearing assembly counterbore and, without unsecuring the wall segment from the machining operation, the base of the disc brake assembly is machined to form the groove for housing a magnetic coil, a plurality of bores to house the brake springs, and a plurality of bolt bores. Precise relative alignment of the grooves, spring bores, stud bores, and bearing assembly counterbore is efficiently achieved by contemporaneous machining operations.

    摘要: Movement of an elevator cab drive sheave is controlled by a multiple disc brake assembly which is operably connected to the output shaft and sheave of the elevator drive machine. The disc brake assembly can act as an upward or downward safety brake, and can also serve as the operating brake for normal operation of the elevator. The brake assembly can be fitted onto a substantially conventional existing elevator system, and its operation is not affected by any gear degradation in the machine drive gears.
