摘要: The invention relates to an elevator comprising an electric linear motor comprising at least one linear stator designed to be located in a fixed correlation to an environment, particularly building, and at least one mover designed for connection with an elevator car to be moved and co-acting with the stator to move the car, which motor comprises a stator beam supporting said at least one stator, which stator beam has at least one side face carrying ferromagnetic poles of said stator spaced apart by a pitch, and which mover comprises at least one counter-face facing said side face(s) of the stator beam, in which counter-face electro-magnetic components of the mover are arranged to co-act with the ferromagnetic poles mounted on the stator beam, which elevator comprises an elevator brake. According to the invention the side face of the stator beam facing the mover and/or the counter face of the mover facing the side face of the stator beam comprise(s) a brake surface which form(s) the brake interface of the elevator brake.

摘要: An elevator car travels in a lane (113, 115, 117) of an elevator shaft (111). A linear propulsion system imparts force to the car (214). The system includes a first part (116) mounted in the lane of the shaft and a second part (118) mounted to the elevator car configured to co-act with the first part to impart movement to the car. Car state sensors (360a-c) are disposed in the lane and determine a state space vector of the car within the lane. A sensed element (364) on the car is sensed by the plurality of car state sensors when the car is in proximity to the respective car state sensor. A control system (225) applies an electrical current to at least one of the first part and the second part and the plurality of car state sensors communicate with the control system and the linear propulsion system to provide state space vector data.

摘要: An apparatus designed for climbing poles, trees and other such columnar objects. The apparatus is a remote-controlled work station that provides a scaffold for mounting semi-robotic articulated arms and video cameras. The articulated arm has a quick-release coupler on an end thereof that is able to repeatedly and releasably couple attachments thereto, such as saws, blades, and other pruning objects. The device includes an expandable frame that may be opened and closed to fit around the vertical structure to be climbed. The frame has horizontal and vertical supports, drive system compression supports, and wheels. A drive system is mounted to each of the drive system compression supports. The drive system includes motorized tracked-climbers that are maintained in contact with the vertical structure to be climbed via adjustable independent suspension. The suspension uses adjustable spring shocks and drive system slide rails to connect the frame to the drive system.

摘要: An elevator for moving a person between two levels. The system includes at least one carriage in a hoist way extending between two floors. A lever arm lifting system moves the carriage. The lever arm may be an articulated lever arm having a primary arm having a first end rotating on a primary shaft supported on the building structure and a primary sprocket wheel fixed to the primary shaft. A secondary arm has a first end rotating on a secondary shaft carried on a second end of the primary arm. A secondary sprocket wheel is also carried on the secondary shaft and is fixed to the secondary arm. The primary and secondary sprocket wheels are coupled by a chain belt. A second end of the secondary arm is coupled to the carriage. An electric motor is coupled to the primary arm to rotate it around the primary shaft, and to thereby move the carriage between the two levels.

摘要: A high force traction apparatus which operates along the cable linear axis with no cable bending. The cable is encircled with links from several looping chain drives. The links have a concave friction surface to match the cable radius. Rollers apply pressure to multiple links thereby providing a high normal force on the cable. The staggered and synchronized links keep the high squeeze force evenly distributed. This allows the traction apparatus to impose a pulling force that approaches the cable tensile limit without cable damage.
