摘要： Apparatus for tapping a hole in a pipeline adapted to be attached to a support assembly having sealed communication with the exterior of a pipeline and having a tapping machine body with a boring bar rotatably supported therein with a circular cutter at the lower end thereof, a feed screw rotatably supported by the tapping machine body for axially positioning the boring bar, a hydraulically powered boring bar drive assembly within the tapping machine body driving the boring bar, a hydraulically powered feed screw drive assembly within the tapping machine body driving the feed screw and an auxiliary drive shaft affixed to rotate the feed screw drive assembly extending exteriorly of the tapping machine body and adapted to receive supplementary mechanical rotary energy for rotation of the feed screw so the boring bar can be retracted if hydraulic power is lost. A pressure compensation system permits the apparatus to be operated in a subsea environment. A position indicating system permits the location of the boring bar to be read out at a remote location, such as on the ocean's surface and an improved coupon retainer is provided.

摘要： A pipe plug includes two or more pivotally connected plugging heads that work in combination to double block and bleed a pipe. At least one of the plugging heads has an expandable sealing element that is in communication with an inflation source. The sealing element may be an inflatable sealing element or a compression packer sealing element. A passageway—sections of which may pass through the pivotal connection and into the plugging head—carries the inflation medium from the source to the sealing element. A bleed port passageway is also provided that passes through the plugging head. The leading plugging head may include a cleaning element for sweeping away debris ahead of the plug. The plugging heads may also include a skid plate that slideably engages the interior surface of the pipe to properly orient the plugging heads within the pipe.

摘要： A pipe plug comprised of two, pivotally connected plugging heads, each plugging head having a sealing element, which work in combination to double block and bleed a pipe. The first sealing element prevents flow of product in the pipe and the second sealing element captures any leakage past the first sealing element and forces that leakage out through a fitting. A stabilization pad, connected to a flange on a nosepiece of each plugging head, prevents deformation of the sealing elements. A spring-loaded pivot arm connected to the second plugging head allows the yoke that connects the two plugging heads to rotate freely. An outward-facing raised taper projection on the pivot arm, along with a guide wheel connected to the first plugging head, prevent the yokes and plugging heads from becoming entrapped during their installation in or removal from the pipe.

摘要： A hand-held blast cleaning machine having a motor which serves as a handle. The machine includes a blast assembly for propelling abrasive material against a surface and a hopper for supplying abrasive material to the blast assembly. The blast assembly has a blast corridor, a rebound corridor, a blast opening, a blast wheel and a motor. The motor drives the rotation of the blast wheel and serves as a handle. The hopper has a return corridor, a collection area, a feed area and a vacuum conduit. The vacuum conduit is connected to a vacuum source to collect dust and debris from the blast cleaning operation. In one embodiment, an side-blast hopper, a down-blast hopper, an up-blast hopper and a side-feed hopper are all interchangeably attachable to the same blast assembly. A shut-off handle is attached to the blast assembly to provide automatic shut-off abrasive material to the blast wheel and to function as a second handle. In another embodiment, the motor serves as the only handle. A linear actuator connected to a feed valve in the hopper provides automatic shut-off of abrasive material to the blast wheel.

摘要： In combination with automatic storage and retrieval system having a continuous track which supports a continuous rotating storage unit to move therearound in a horizontal direction, the rotating storage unit including a plurality of horizontally spaced shelves arranged vertically into columns, a conveyor system mounted adjacent the rotating storage unit for moving storage bins towards and away from the rotating storage unit, and an elevator mounted in a fixed position between the rotating storage unit and the conveyor system; a platform mounted in the elevator for vertical movement up and down adjacent the rotating storage unit, an extraction and insertion arm assembly slidably mounted on the platform, the arm assembly including a pair of longitudinally disposed extractor arms having the forward ends extending towards the rotating storage units, a motor for driving the arm assembly in a horizontal direction towards and away from the rotating storage unit for bin placement in and withdrawal from a preselected shelf; spring loaded flippers mounted on the forward end of each arm for removing a bin from a preselected shelf during the extraction operation; a pusher block mounted on the upper portion of each the arm for pushing a bin onto a preselected shelf during the insertion operation; a conveyor belt assembly mounted on the platform in longitudinal alignment therewith between the extractor arms for aiding the movement of a bin into or withdrawal from a preselected shelf; and retaining bars for securing a bin on the platform.
