The upper shelter portion provides a roof-like structure, while a lower enclosure portion may be connected, directly or indirectly, to the upper shelter portion and may provide wall-like structures that may include doors, vents, windows, and the like, or that may comprise an open network of lines, straps, wires, or bands. In tent embodiments, the upper shelter portion and the lower enclosure portion may be provided as fabric structures that, when erected, form tensioned fabric structures. Support systems, kits for assembling structures, reinforcement features and methods for assembling structures are also disclosed.

The first and second movable members alternate around the variable area nozzle. During cruise conditions the first and second movable members are in un-actuated positions. At take off conditions the first movable members are in an actuated position and the second movable members are in the un-actuated position. At top of climb conditions the first movable members are in the un-actuated position and the second movable members are in an actuated position. The first movable members move radially outwardly from the un-actuated position to the actuated position and the second movable members move radially inwardly from the un-actuated position to the actuated position.

The electrical discharge from the storage device 25, 125, 225, 35 can be adjusted using the switch 26, 37 or mixing the storage devices 25, 125, 225, 35 as required for an appropriate discharge signal shape. Generally, the active magnetic bearing 21, 31 is controlled by a controller device which monitors target/rotor 24, 34 position in order to determine transient loading and therefore switching of the storage device 25, 125, 225, 35.

The roller is covered with a fluid retaining wear resistant layer which contacts the rail surface. Rolling motion of the roller is generated by movement of the cage along the track and wiping action is caused by retarding rolling motion by contact of the roller with the rear portion of the cage. In a further feature the motion of the roller may be additionally retarded by providing in the interior of the roller a quantity of particulate matter to increase rolling resistance and the weight of the roller.

A mechanical counterbalance assembly for an overhead, track mounted, aircraft door includes a frame, a shaft mounted for rotation in the frame, and a torsion spring interconnected between the shaft and the frame. As the shaft is turned in a first direction, the spring is wound so that a torque is applied to the shaft in the direction opposite to rotation. The spring rate of the torsional spring is selected so the spring torsional force slightly exceeds the component of the door weight acting along the path of motion of the door throughout the door travel. A cable drum is mounted for rotation on the shaft and is releasably affixed thereto. A cable is wrapped about the drum and has its free end connected to the overhead sliding door. A planetary gear train has its low speed input shaft coupled to the shaft and its high speed output shaft operatively coupled to a centrifugal brake and to a manually rotatable drive wheel. When the door is lowered from its open position to its closed position, cable is unwound from the drum, rotating the shaft to store energy in the spring. When the door is opened, a torque is imparted to the shaft by the spring to counterbalance the door and assist in raising it to an open position. Should the cable break or the door be lightened for any reason, the rotational speed of the shaft as urged by the spring is limited by a centrifugal brake coupled to the high speed output of the planetary gear train. Similarly, should the torsional spring break, the lowering rate of the door is limited by the action of the centrifugal brake.
