摘要: Variable sleeve clearance control systems for gas turbine engines are disclosed. An example variable sleeve clearance control system for a gas turbine engine includes a sleeve comprising a first end and a second end, the first end of the sleeve coupled to a first spring that biases the sleeve inward, and the second end of the sleeve coupled to a second spring that biases the sleeve outward, a proximity sensor to measure a clearance width, and a controller for each of the first and second springs, the controller to obtain the measured clearance width from the proximity sensor and determine a response of the first and second springs.

摘要: A propulsion system for an aircraft includes a rotor and a nacelle fairing that extends around the rotor in relation to an axis. The nacelle fairing includes an upstream portion forming an inlet section of the nacelle fairing as well as a downstream portion, a downstream end of which forms an outlet section of the nacelle fairing. The downstream portion includes radially inner and outer walls, both of which are made of a deformable shape memory material. The wall has independently actuatable piston actuator mechanisms, each actuator mechanism being actuatable independently of the others and being designed to cooperate with means built into an inner surface of the wall to deform the wall in a radial direction in relation to the axis under the effect of a predetermined displacement command.

摘要: The invention relates to a fluid pump, in particular to a liquid pump having a rotor with at last one rotor blade for conveying the fluid, the rotor being variable with respect to its diameter between a first, compressed state and a second expanded state. In order to produce a simple compressibility and expandability of the rotor of the pump, it is provided according to the invention that at least one rotor blade is deformable between a first state which it assumes in the compressed state of the rotor and a second state which it assumes in the expanded state of the rotor by means of a fluid counterpressure during a rotation of the rotor during pump operation.

The hybrid bearing support system includes a shaft extension fixedly coupled to a rotatable member at a radially inner end of the shaft extension, a radially outer end of said shaft extension fixedly coupled to a rotatable race of a bearing supporting the rotatable member, and a recoupler device formed of a shape memory alloy (SMA) material coupled in parallel with at least a portion of said shaft extension between the radially inner end and the radially outer end.

摘要: An improved system, apparatus and method for controlling vane angles in a gas turbine engine, and more specifically, for correcting vane angle error in a gas turbine engine. An active synchronization ring comprises a plurality of micro-actuators coupled to the synchronization ring to correct distortion in the synchronization ring. The micro-actuators apply a bending moment to the synchronization ring to cancel or compensate for synchronization ring distortion. The micro-actuators may be controlled open loop or closed loop. Strain sensors measure ring distortion and provide signals to the controller for closed loop control.

摘要: A gas turbine engine variable area exhaust nozzle has a plurality of first and second movable members arranged circumferentially around a fan casing extending in downstream. The first and second movable members alternate around the variable area nozzle. During cruise conditions the first and second movable members are in un-actuated positions. At take off conditions the first movable members are in an actuated position and the second movable members are in the un-actuated position. At top of climb conditions the first movable members are in the un-actuated position and the second movable members are in an actuated position. The first movable members move radially outwardly from the un-actuated position to the actuated position and the second movable members move radially inwardly from the un-actuated position to the actuated position.
