摘要: A retrofit luminaire assembly for mounting in an existing canopy fixture housing and methods of installing same. The retrofit luminaire assembly includes a planar panel having electrical control elements mounted to an upper surface of the panel. A lamp is received in a lamp socket mounted to the panel with a light-emitting section of the lamp extending away from a lower surface of the panel. A lens is mounted to the lower surface of the panel for enclosing the light-emitting section of the lamp. The panel preferably has a pair of oppositely directed pivot members which are adapted to engage with inwardly directed flanges of the canopy fixture housing to removably and pivotally support the panel for movement between a vertical, inoperative position and a horizontal, operative position. Methods of installing the retrofit luminaire assembly in the existing canopy fixture housing are also disclosed.

摘要: A lampsocket having a porcelain body that has a base, a peripheral wall, and at least two of a rigid, longitudinal spacer projecting axially outwardly from the base. The longitudinal upper surfaces of the spacers engage opposite areas of the bottom of the base of the lamp. The lampsocket is intended for use with and to operate a class of lamps having a threaded base having an insulated extension from the central portion of the bottom of the lamp base, and a central button mounted on the insulated extension. The lampsocket can also accept, but can not make electrical contact with, other lamps that have a conventional base contact without the insulated extension.

A locking component (31) may be attached to the narrow neck (16, 116) to fixedly secure the luminaire (10, 110, 210) to the canopy. The luminaire (10, 110, 210) may also include externally mounted control gear (80), such as the ballast. Further, the luminaire (10, 110, 210) may include a hingedly attached glass lens (42) to permit quick and easy replacement of lamps. Alternatively, luminaire (210) may include a rotatably attached glass lens (240).

摘要: An externally adjustable directional canopy luminaire is disclosed that may be easily and quickly adjusted from the outside of its housing to direct light toward a particular target area. The luminaire includes a lamp shroud assembly including a door frame, a shroud and a lamp socket which is connectable to an electrical power source to power a replaceable lamp, an external adjustment member, and an internal mechanism movably connected to the external adjustment member through the shroud and indirectly connected to a portion of the lamp socket, wherein adjustment of the external adjustment member can alter the angle of direction of the lamp socket and thus the direction of light emitted from the replaceable lamp through the opening of the shroud.

摘要: A luminaire reflector formed from at least one sheet of reflective material is folded and curved by hand to form a self-standing reflector having a predetermined three-dimensional reflector shape. Each sheet of reflective material includes integral panels that are joined to adjacent panels through fold lines that allow the panels to be folded by hand. The panels have free edges that are folded and/or curved into abutting relationship. The panels include locking members and positioning tabs formed adjacent the free edges to retain the reflector in a predetermined three-dimensional reflector shape. Methods of making a self-standing reflector for a luminaire are also disclosed.

摘要: A mounting system for luminaire assemblies includes a mounting fixture which can be inserted into a tubular pole and secured therein without the need for complicated fasteners or tools. Specifically, the mounting fixture includes a cylindrical fitting with a tapered threaded section in which the depth of the groove forming the threads decreases upwardly along the fitting. A generally circular wire clip is seated within the tapered groove and upon rotation of the fitting relative to the tubular pole an end or detent of the clip engages the inner surface of the pole thereby prevent rotation of the clip. Continued rotation of the fitting relative to the pole advances the clip upwardly in the threaded section toward the more shallow portions of the groove thereby forming a friction fit between the expanding clip, the mounting fixture and the pole. The friction fit minimizes wobble, noise or other vibration between the assembled components and can be released upon reverse rotation of the mounting fixture relative to the pole. Furthermore, the pole may be of any polygonal or circular cross-sectional configuration as is desired.
