摘要： A ballasted lamp socket for a gas discharge lamp, such as a compact fluorescent lamp, is adapted to replace an Edison screw-in lamp socket in a ceiling mounted light fixture, or a table or floor lamp. The ballasted lamp socket comprises a lamp-receiving portion adapted to be coupled to the gas discharge lamp, an enclosure mechanically coupled to the lamp-receiving portion, a dimming ballast circuit electrically coupled to the lamp-receiving portion and housed within the enclosure, and first and second electrical connections. The ballast portion is adapted to receive an AC line voltage and to generate a high-frequency AC voltage for driving the gas discharge lamp and controlling the light intensity of the gas discharge lamp between a high-end intensity and a low-end intensity. The first and second electrical connections are operable to receive the AC line voltage and to provide the AC line voltage to the ballast circuit.

摘要： A luminaire assembly comprises a lower portion for receiving a light emitting source and an upper housing that stores the electrical components of the luminaire. The lower portion has a base portion disposed against the canopy with a latch attachment portion, a lens secured to the base portion by a hinge mechanism that permits the lens to open with respect to the base portion, and a latch connected to the base portion and having a connecting portion for connecting the base portion to the lens. The upper housing is disposed above the canopy. A bracket is attached to the base portion and extends up through the aperture in the canopy and connects to an inner wall of an apertured portion of the upper housing to secure the lower portion to the upper housing. The upper housing may have extending deck supports to support the weight of the upper housing on the ribs of the canopy. A locking cam is provided to secure the bracket to the upper housing. The upper housing has a slot having an inner wall, an outer wall, and a gap disposed between the inner and outer walls so that a conduit having a stop at the connecting end may slid into the slot with a gasket disposed thereon to fill up the gap and provide a secure, sealed tool-less attachment of the conduit.

摘要： A light fixture of the present invention comprises a base, a top spaced above the base, a plurality of upright bars (channels) formed as parts separate from the top and the base and extending up from the base to the top of the light fixture for holding a series of panels of transparent sheet material, such as glass, to form an enclosure for a lamp, and fasteners for attaching upper and lower ends of each bar to the top and the base, respectively. Each of the bars is an extruded part of one-piece construction configured to have a spine, and a channel-forming structure projecting inwardly from the spine to form a pair of channels which extend lengthwise of the bar and which open laterally for receiving respective edges of two adjacent panels of said series of panels. The spine and the channel-forming structure of each bar are integrally formed as a one-piece extrusion.

摘要： A reflector light has a reflector having a reflective inner surface having an edge defining a ceiling plane and substantially symmetrical to a symmetry plane perpendicular to the ceiling plane and a rear-end compartment bisected by the symmetry plane and remote from the ceiling plane. A lamp or primary light source is provided in the compartment on the symmetry plane. An at least partially light-passing diffuser separate from the reflector and spaced toward the surface from the lamp is substantially symmetrical to the symmetry plane and has a light-emitting flat outer surface directed toward the ceiling plane. The surfaces are shaped such that light emitted by the diffuser surface is reflected by the reflector surface outward in a space symmetrical to the symmetry plane and defined by a family of lines tangenting the reflector edge and traversing the symmetry plane. The diffuser surface lies between the family of lines and the lamp.

摘要： A novel low voltage lighting system is provided herein, by the following novel combination of elements. The first element is a brick, the brick having a bore therethrough, the bore having an upper countersunk enlargement. The second element is a lighting fixture installed in the brick. The lighting fixture includes a base, the base including an upper circular platform surrounded by a perimetrical wall which is capped by a base-component of a mating snap-ring assembly. A central well depends from the circular platform, the well being enclosed by a generally-cylindrical boss. The central well communicates with a depending, hollow, rectangular parallelepiped member which is provided with a pair of longitudinally-extending openings for the passage of a pair of electrical wires. The depending, hollow, rectangular parallelepiped member is fitted with a standard wiring harness for insertion of a low voltage light bulb thereinto. The generally-cylindrical boss serves the dual function of accommodating the standard wiring harness therein, and its outer cylindrical surface frictionally-engages the bore through the brick to secure the lighting fixture to the brick. The lighting fixture also includes a circular lens cap which is provided with a cap-component of the mating snap-ring assembly for selective frictional engagement and disengagement with the base-component of the mating snap-ring assembly.

The acoustical lighting fixture 10 includes an acoustical shell 30 having an electrical light source 32, such as a fluorescent tube, removably mounted on the acoustical shell 30. The acoustical shell 30 may be constructed from a fiberglass material or a perforated metal material. The acoustical lighting fixture 10 also includes an acoustical, sound absorbing blanket 26 that absorbs sounds that strike the acoustical lighting fixture 10. The acoustical lighting fixture 10 may also include a louver 28 which encloses the electrical light source 32 within the acoustical shell 30. Additionally, the lighting fixture 10 may include a electrical plug 55 that can be inserted into an outlet 57 that is electrically connected to an electrical power supply 22.

摘要： Apparatus for lighting a lower tread of a stairway having the lower tread relatively parallel to and spaced a gap from an upper tread. The lighting apparatus includes illuminating means. A housing is positioned underneath the upper tread. The housing includes an open front face generally perpendicular to and facing a front portion of the lower tread. The housing defines an interior region adapted to contain the illuminating means and includes a wall having an opening sized to receive therethrough the illuminating means. The lighting apparatus includes a louver angularly overhanging the open front face of the housing so that light diffused from the illuminating means is directed downwardly to illuminate the lower tread. The louver includes a tab removably insertable into a pocket partially defined by a surface of the upper tread and a generally plane wall of the housing. The tab secures the louver in the overhanging position after the tab is installed in the pocket.

摘要： An in-ground light fixture includes a single unitary body having a first chamber and a second chamber, the first chamber and the second chamber being separated by a common wall, and plural conductive elements, each of which is molded within the common wall separating the first chamber and the second chamber and each of which forms a conductive pathway between the first chamber and the second chamber. The first chamber contains at least electrical components and a light source, and has an opening for receiving a lens, and the second chamber has an opening adapted to receive a power cable supplying power from an external power source. The plural conductive elements permit power to be supplied from the second chamber to the electrical components and the light source in the first chamber. The in-ground light is also adaptable for use as an elevated landscape light so as to provide lighting above grade level. According to the invention, the light housing has a lip extending therefrom, wherein the lip has at least one boss extending therefrom and has a diameter greater than the diameter of the housing. An elongated base having a length greater than the length of the housing and having an open end receives the light housing and is fastened to the at least one boss that extends from the lip.
