The array includes at least one detector located within the array to selectively monitor multiple characteristics of the light emitting semiconductor devices and is configured to generate a signal corresponding to the selected characteristic. A controller is configured to control the light emitting semiconductor devices in response to the signal from the at least one detector. At least one of the multiple characteristics may be concentrated at an area of the array and the at least one detector may be located within the array at the area of the array to selectively monitor characteristic that is concentrated at the area of the array.

    摘要: A display system (10) uses an electrically driven compensator cell (16) not only to improve the color quality of the display system but also to solve viewability problems stemming from the frame response effect. The display system includes a liquid crystal cell (14) patterned as a matrix display device and the compensator cell patterned in a row-only fashion. Corresponding row electrodes (26, 32) of the matrix display cell and the compensator cell are concurrently driven from the same row driver circuit (40). The cells are constructed and oriented relative to each other so as to cancel unwanted polarization state changes resulting from the frame response effect. The resulting light transmission through the display system in the OFF optical state is substantially at a minimum at all times during a frame period.

    摘要: A CRT calibration system is provided having a CRT with a display screen, an electron gun system, and a plurality of feedback elements. Each feedback element has an active area disposed proximately to the display screen at a preselected location such that an electron beam from the electron gun system can strike at least a portion of the active area. In response to being struck by electrons, each feedback element provides a feedback signal related to the area of the portion struck. The system also includes a detector system for detecting each feedback signal, and an integrating analog-to-analog converter which, in response, provides a digital signal related to the portion of the active area struck and thereby to the position of the electron beam relative to the particular feedback element interrogated. Also included is a control system for directing the electron beam to strike a sequence of portions of the active area for each feedback element, thereby evoking a corresponding sequence of feedback signals for each feedback element and a corresponding sequence of digital signals, enabling the control system to determine the location of each feedback element.
