    Abstract: A modular liquid distribution system in which each module has a module body, a spray nozzle, and a cyclically operable piston for controlling the dispensing of high viscous liquids from the spray nozzle. Each spray nozzle has a nozzle body with a liquid inlet and a tear dropped shaped pintle which together with the nozzle body defines an expansion chamber that reduces velocity of the liquid sufficient to be dispensed in small droplet form without splattering. In one embodiment, the nozzle body has a discharge orifice sized smaller than the outer diameter of the expansion chamber for accelerating liquid flow upon discharge sufficient to enhance consistent and repeatable breaks in the cyclically controlled fluid flow stream for enabling the discharge of smaller and more consistent volumes.

    Abstract: A liquid spraying system having an elongated spray boom with a plurality of spray nozzle assemblies supported thereon. Each spray nozzle assembly has a compact design with first spray nozzle supported on an underside of the spray boom and a turret spray nozzle on a lateral side. Fluid control check valves for the spray nozzles are supported on respective check valve support sections having have annular liquid supply passages offset from each with lateral sides in overlapping relation defining a common liquid inlet to the check valves for directly receiving liquid from a nozzle body inlet passage for more efficient operation. The check valve support sections are in laterally adjacent, longitudinally offset relation to each for defining clearance spaces opening under the spray boom for accommodating potentially interfering items suspended from the spray boom.

    Abstract: A particle measurement system and method of operation thereof are described. The system and method render a characteristic for a set of particles measured while passing through a measurement volume. The system includes a source that generates a particle-laden field containing the set of particles. The system further includes a sensor that generates a raw particle data corresponding to the set particles passing through the measurement volume of the particle measurement system, where the raw particle data comprises a set of raw particle records and each of one of the raw particle records includes a particle data content. A preconditioning stage carries out a preconditioning operation on the particle data content of the set of raw particle records to render a conditioned input data. A machine learning stage processes the conditioned input data to render an output characteristic parameter value for the set of particles.

    Abstract: A spray tip including a spray tip body and flow control element is provided. The flow control element includes a pre-orifice through which fluid can enter a primary fluid passage of the spray tip body. First and second discharge orifices are provided in a dome-shaped end wall of the spray tip body with each of the first and second discharge orifices being arranged on a respective one of opposing first and second sides of an apex of the dome-shaped end wall. Each of the first and second discharge orifices having an elongated slot-like configuration that maintains a substantially constant width as the respective discharge orifice extends from a first end to a second end and each and each extending a substantially equal distance to either side of the apex of the dome-shaped end wall.
